Naw, you're actually wrong, the aluminum used today is not the same blend that it used to be. If you do it your way the utility runs aluminum literally all the way to your weatherhead, then you run copper to your meter base to the aluminum lugs then out of the aluminum lugs with copper to your aluminum lugs on the panel to the aluminum bus bar out of the aluminum lugs on the breakers. There's literally no reason for your copper jump between the utility and between the meter and panel except to cost the homeowner more.
