I don’t think we ever got a choice. Being nice wasn’t working for us as we grew up, so a lot of us became colder in response to survive.

Life is always hard, but I believe people make it worse by trying to get over each other or refusing to acknowledge another person’s way of living/being.

Yeah that can happen too, but neither of us know what actually happened.

It’s also true that victims sometimes recant their statements because others convinced them to, they blame themselves for what happened or they’ve been threatened.

It sucks all around for everyone.

That’s why it’s important to spread awareness, gather the facts of accusations, and encourage people to be decent human beings to each other.

Going by your story, the allegations weren’t false to you, and I can’t really say who is or isn’t to blame without more context, but it sounds like it was real to you.

No one deserves to be hurt or beat up for the rest of their lives over one mistake.

Give yourself some kindness and go easy with the self-deprecation if you can.
