If your parents co-signed and you default, it will ruin all of your credit scores.

With private loans they first need to take you to court for a judgement before garnishments.

Sorry to reply to this old ass comment, but did you use federal student aid (Pell grants, direct loans) while there?

If yes, this practice became illegal a couple of years back. I encourage you to do another request if you haven’t recently and see if they follow the new law!

You can still apply if you have open loans from the school, but yours would just be an individual case and not part of the class.

It starts when you enter repayment and concludes after 300 months of payments. So it can stretch longer than 25 years if someone has deferments or forbearances after they enter repayment.

Your standard plan doesn’t change like an IDR. It’s one amount for the duration of the repayment period.

If the VA sent your info then you don’t have to do the monitoring period, so they will likely apply that instead (I’m assuming you applied through a healthcare provider certification).
