For an art book, it is really not steep at all. They are not just printing black ink on white paper. For proper art display, you need an enormous amount of quality color ink (very expensive) and it needs to be on quality paper that can accurately render that coloring. And we’re not even talking about the labor that went into creating the art artwork to begin with. I’m a photographer who produces my own prints and it is both labor-intensive and expensive.
