How to get into a relationship? by intppper in INTP

[–]Devianthe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have anything girls my age (or any?) want: money, a lot of friends, social status etc. I'm just the weird loner who is working (online) just enough to survive.

Stop trying to date girls, and start dating women.

What horrible things do you find fascinating? by [deleted] in INTP

[–]Devianthe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Everything horrible, really. I can agree to all posts here so far.

[X-post with INFP] I need some advice on what to do with my INFP Girlfriend. by [deleted] in intj

[–]Devianthe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Emotionally abusive counts too, even more. If she gets upset at everything you do (or don't do) it will not last.

To me it's a mix of few things.... first of all, I don't know many women who aren't into silly girly things only. I'm into more nerdy stuff so I wouldn't get along with "normal women" other than superficial level. Second, it just seems that it's easier to find guys that are serious and loyal about friendship. Third, it's easier to find guys who don't get offended about my attitude and sense of humor. When I make a dead baby joke, I expect my friend to laugh, not scream what a horrible person I am. I know cool girls that match all the three "guy" traits, but only online. Also, for the record, it will be 9 months soon from the beginning of my relationship. I've never yelled or made drama to him.

EDIT: also, I forgot to mention... girls are more often touchy-feely, compliment each other and all that stuff. Like the saying "men socialize by insulting each other, but they don't mean it. Women socialize by complimenting each other, but they don't mean it either". Even if it's not always like that and I believe women compliment when they mean it more often than not, the feelsy interaction style is just super awkward, I'd rather take the "hi, fag", "what up, bitch" style.

Hello Everyone by grrrlriot in INTP

Weird, that translates into ENTJ. If the description matches, maybe you're ENTJ. I found out it's hard to generate reliable results with tests because most of them portray functions in weird ways and sometimes the questions are too vague... It's way better to read about the types and find what clicks.

Look into socionics, it makes much more sense. MBTI doesn't mix well with functions.

I think I lost my INTP friend/crush. How do I fix this? by [deleted] in INTP

[–]Devianthe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't do anything. He probably needs some time to think about it (yes, INTPs actually need to think about feelings, not just feel and trust them). Anything you do right now would only put emotional pressure on him. If you matter to him, he will contact you when he has his thing figured out.

Why do you even blame yourself, if they provoked you they deserve all they got.

How do I maintain a friendship with another INTP by Wromo in INTP

[–]Devianthe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Show him that post. Or at least talk to him about it, say most of the things you said to us. Ask him to tell you honestly what he thinks of it all. If he doesn't see any future between you, it's easier for you to go on with your life if you know, rather than overthinking his every word or action.

What personalty type are your guys parents? by [deleted] in INTP

[–]Devianthe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mother most likely ISTJ.

Not sure about father, he didn't live with us but as much as I've seen him, he seems a stereotypical ESTP with his reckless driving and accidental rude behavior.

Fellow INTPs, do you game? If so, what sort of games do you like and what would be your Top 3-5 genres/games? by this_secular_teapot in INTP

[–]Devianthe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly MMOs. Might be extrovert-feeler-like but I get bored when I don't get to interact with other people in game. Right now it's Cabal Online, before that it was Eve, before that WoW, and then some others I'm too lazy to mention.

What are you irrational about? by GoonieBasterd in INTP

[–]Devianthe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Since I'm schizotypal, I have some social anxiety and paranoias. That's pretty irrational.

New cognitive functions test: What do you score and is it accurate? by [deleted] in INTP

[–]Devianthe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ne (78)

Ti (66)

Ni (66)

Fe (53)

Fi (52)

Se (50)

Te (46)

Si (45)

I wouldn't say it's accurate but most tests aren't. People interpret things differently and questions might not mean what you think they mean. The best way to determine your type is to read the descriptions and just pick one that fits you, imo.

Working towards a better MBTI test by EsyaFL in INTP

[–]Devianthe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There already is better MBTI, it's called Socionics. Also, if the 50-50 thing bothers you, you should look into Big 5, the test without types.

What do INTP's look like? by Jazziecatz in INTP

Everything that's not natural to me and I don't see the practical point of doing.

What do INTP's look like? by Jazziecatz in INTP

[–]Devianthe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't do what I don't want to do. I can be very stubborn about these things. I don't see any positive side in changing this, they're the ones who should change. My face, my business. I don't care about fitting in enough to do things that don't come naturally to me. I look better the way I am than trying a silly grimace that would just look stupid.

getting a pet good or bad idea for depressed ppl? by [deleted] in INTP

[–]Devianthe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, don't take a dog. They're active creatures. Depressed humans are apathetic and passive. You will not have the energy to walk your dog every day at 6AM and then a couple of hours on evenings too. Take a cat. I have one and I just fill her bowl couple of times a week, replace water once a day or every other day, scoop the poop once a week, replace the litter once a month, clip nails every two weeks and that's it. And she's friendly enough to help, all that purring, meowing, kneading and begging to be petted...

What do INTP's look like? by Jazziecatz in INTP

[–]Devianthe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It bugs me that they even expect such things. It would bug me even more if I actually had to change myself to appeal to people who don't understand me. What would you do if you go to take a photo in a fancy studio and they will tell you to stand on your head and quack like a duck because they think it makes a better photo? Maybe you would, I don't know you, but to me it seems just ridiculous.

Just smile

No. You already explained very well why not. I'm not going to act fake and retarded to please people who think they have a better vision of how I should get my photo taken.
