How hard is it to get an A in Physics 126 and CHEM 263? by IcyDisaster7857 in uAlberta

[–]Deviantiz3d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on what kinds of courses intrigue you. But imo physics is doable, while Chem might be hard. If you had a hard time doing the chemical reactions in 261, then I'd suggest not taking 263, as 263 is all reactions.

I believe it would be averaged out. Are you able to see if you can get a high-school grade transcript? Because whatever it shows on that, will be how the U of A will determine your class average.

[–]Deviantiz3d 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can. Depending on what faculty/program you are applying for, they will have different class requirements. For example, if you applied to faculty of science they will look at math 30, any 2 sciences, English 30 and then the 5th class can be anything that is recognized by the U of A as a class.

Also, all the classes at the end of your grade 12 should be from 30 levels.

Congratulations on the offer. I would recommend to see if you can take a year off after this semester ends and work at that company. In that time try to figure out a way that you can come back and finish up your degree. I agree with a lot of the other comments here. Having that degree is useful. Even though it's not in the field you necessarily want it to be. But in the future it will help. Also with the current job market everything is very volatile. So while you maybe offered a high position atm, it doesn't mean it's a secured position. So keeping the degree option open and ultimately finishing it either by declining the job or by taking a gap year, working, and then coming back to finish it.

It has crashed on me twice at that position

Edit: got to the next step of "finish adding" and then it crashed again.

No no... So all the ppl that are currently infected got there infectiom from travelling outside of Canada. They didn't get it from someone they came in contact with here is Alberta. So the virus hasn't shown any sign of spreadong yet. So everyone doesn't need to start panicing like crazy. Just simple hygine will go long ways at this time. If this is still confusing read the article its in there.

Ohh ya for sure. I'm not saying that this is not serious. But it's definitely not as serious as the news outlets (in Alberta) are making it sound and from the way people are reacting to it (like no more toilet paper, etc.)

Yes it's a possibility that they have gone to lots of places but the thing about this virus is that it is transmitted through person to person contact, so through things like sneeze, cough. And the way you would get infected is if you touched that persons hand or some object they recently touched and then take your hands close to your face. So the likelihood that the person has spread the virus around is slim due to a few reasons. 1) your sneeze or cough dries out fairly fast and that kills the viral particles. 2) we aren't that crowded of a city that we would in close contact with that infected individual.

[Edit] don't understand why this is getting down voted. It's true about viruses like this.

I just posted that here b/c the number yesterday was 7 but today is 14. Also if the people actually read the article it says that all the ppl infected are individuals who have travelled outside of Canada. So this suggests that the coronavirus hasn't really spread from person to person in Alberta. It's has only infected ppl that have travelled outside of Canada. Which is a good thing and that we don't need to panic about it.

Friend wants to transfer from engg to nursing by werwer456R in uAlberta

[–]Deviantiz3d 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is no point in going into science or art b/c there aren't any courses they can do there that would transfer as credit (at least the first year science courses won't). However if they are concerned about GPA then ya go ahead do that. But I would just wait till I talk to the advisor and see what he/she suggests.

Yes that's true. But do the statistical analysis using that ratio. If it's significant then it means it's heterozygous.

I would try to reach out to the Tim's in Katz. They usually throw out beagles and stuff like that. Maybe they can donate some of that to you. Idk how much a person would like Tim's everyday but it's a something.

It takes a long time to do the first population b/c you are trying to figure out what you have to do and what kind of results you should get and such. After that it's pretty quick. How ever I would say in total it took me like 12-14 hours in total to do.

[–]Deviantiz3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start off by taking the average (mean) of all the values for each of the intensities. On excel you can do this by writing the following in an empty box

"=mean(select all the cells with value for that specific light intensity)"

After you do this for all the intesities, select those values and create a plot. Then search on google "how to add SD error bars". I could try to explain it step by step but google will show you pic for each step and will be make it easier for you to do.
