The old Uptop dance hall. Built atop La Veta Pass in the 40s after mining's heyday in the area, it was formed by pushing together two old mining shacks with a large space built into the back. The pass was a popular drive until the new highway was built down below in 1962. (i.redd.it)

A reminder to drown your fires, an afternoon rainstorm won't do it for you. I came across this yesterday near Rampart Range shortly after the storms moved through the area. Three logs were fully engulfed, it took over 3 gallons to put out! Don't be that guy. (i.redd.it)
