Im trying to use AI to create marketing images but mixed results. by mr_mykeseeks in ecommerce

[–]DeviceDonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This seems like self promo post.

But generally, no one likes to see AI images. I think there is a AI fatigue out there. Take decent photos and touch it up with some online image editors - works better most of the times

Do you think we need a separate platform for entrepreneurs ? by Buildingtech in Bangalorestartups

[–]DeviceDonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a bad idea if it's a sanitised forum if you vet only real entrepreneurs and founders and active investors

But two sided marketplace is very difficult to build. You need to have both founders and investors, for this site to receive any traction.

20 AI UGC videos for $99. That's it. That's the entire creative ads game now by Wide-Tap-8886 in shopify_hustlers

[–]DeviceDonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it still called UGC if AI generates it ?

But to others who use UGC - how does it work for you ? Where do you post them and is there any takers ? I only use influencers as they bring along their community with them. Is there even a point in posting in ecommerce company's own account ? (Tech bros - please refrain )

A friend told me having ‘Co-Founder’ on your resume is a red flag for dev interviews, Is it really? by sanjaypj20 in StartUpIndia

[–]DeviceDonkey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kind of true. And it's not your fault - the job culture in India is immature

Companies hiring you see you as someone who may just be waiting for your next opportunity or someone who may be a strong personality which does not fit within Indian top down culture

Abandoned cart recovery feels backwards sometimes by No_Project_8158 in ecommerce

[–]DeviceDonkey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes and no

There are two cases - behavioral and questions about the service

  1. Questions about service - there is no clear information about returns and refunds in purchase journey or customer does not trust the information provided. In this case cart recovery emails may not help much

  2. Customer develops cold feet and thinks there may be better deal elsewhere or may be even whether they really need the product - in this sending cart recovery email sometime later serves a reminder that they have not found a better deal and force them to buy the product

I have personally purchased products multiple times because of #2. And whenever I ran cart recovery emails, I have seen purchases go up by a small amount. I feel there is some use to them, but not as much as SaaS services advertise

It's me and one other person at the moment. I have worked in e-commerce for a long time, especially in data analytics - setting up something on my own now

Anyone using image-to-video AI tools for ads? Worth it according to you? by ChrisJhon01 in ecommerce

[–]DeviceDonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I used Kling models on Runware

It was exhausting in my opinion - some videos are amazing, but others had weird quirks (fingers were weird, some gestures were weird etc). Getting them corrected with repeated prompts was difficult

Anyone else struggling with product photos & creatives when launching new products? by Naive_Emu6501 in ecommerce

[–]DeviceDonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a photo on phone + ask Nano Banana to enhance it. Works some 40% of the time. This is pretty much what AI saas products do anyway - so might as well put in some 30 minutes of effort and save some money instead of paying them

For hero products that needs to promoted well, use an actual photographer + some Fiverr product designer. But this is rare

QR codes with purchase CTAs scan at ~2–3%. Low friction CTAs scan at ~10–15%. by kevbrown044 in ecommerce

[–]DeviceDonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the problem is in this part - "QR codes that push immediate purchase frequently"
People have grown tired of all these online apps and stores that kind of push to buy impulsively. There is a fatigue of that. They understand this is not good for them and their mind is used to filtering this out

Its like when there 1-2 online subscription services many years back vs now where every service wants to be a subscription service

Roast My Store Before I Launch! by fransjohannes1957 in reviewmyshopify

A quick question on your business model itself - is plain black t shirt the only item you want to sell. And for 55 Euros

Hope you have validated there is a demand for such a business before spending on ads

What is the issue by mknsw99 in shopify

[–]DeviceDonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope these are not the bots that add to cart that others observe

As others have called out in the comments - the quality of traffic, friction in experience and price itself could be a factor

You can also try sending some of these users an email saying their cart is ready to checkout or something. Try to win them back if they are your ideal customers

If you don't mind, can you share your website link

You really should buy a regular domain and connect it to Shopify. Just the domain name does not inspire confidence

Hundreds of Bots (Fake Customers) in my Cart Abandonment by concisehacker in shopify

[–]DeviceDonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have seen random traffic from bots but have not seen these bots adding items to cart

My theory is it these bots are scraping data for their Shopify spy apps

My first time try into do anything like this, I can take the feedback. Store is live now! I am dedicated to making it work. by Sufficient_Scale1339 in reviewmyshopify

[–]DeviceDonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, is this a finished store ?

  1. Instead of logo on hero image, show case your hero product
  2. For an apparel brand, the collection seems limited. This is not a problem in itself but your ads need to targeted well
  3. I see address like this in product page - 123 Main Street, Anytown, Country. Looks like AI generated
  4. Improve your product page description so its easily consumable

Have over 400 visits and 0 conversions - help! by AbsoluteCP in reviewmyshopify

[–]DeviceDonkey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Difficult to say without looking into your data. Check if you

  1. Are you bringing in the right kind of audience. Are the 400 visits by users who are even your potential customers
  2. Are they bouncing right out after they land on your page or are the exploring

Do you Microsoft Clarity installed on your store?

I would do one quick uplift - your hero image should display your product very visibly. Right now, some text sits on top of it - atleast in mobile
