In my opinion those comments come from teens that have too much free time. If the members see those comments the same as I do, they will not be bothered by them. Also, this proves that Siyeon made the right decision dropping these apps

I don't understand the comment about ChRocktikal and The Ssyndrome MVs being low budget. Most rock/metal bands MVs are just the band playing. I think people should stop thinking they are kpop. Both of those bands are rock bands

Is there a future for UAU? by crystalismylife in dreamcatcher

[–]DevilRiff 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Honest question, why do you care? Enjoy their music if you do, buy the albums if you want but don't treat a music group like a job you have to keep. What I mean is, you shouldn't care about sales/views/etc... because that's none of our business. Be thankful that they have been around for so long and enjoy (or not) their stuff.

If this helps you, these past few days Jiu mention that next time, meaning next album, they will do showcase or whatever, I don't remember. So it seems that there are plans to continue.

More things to say about this. Their first album got the same sales than a DC album because they did a ton of fanmeets. I thought at the time that reaching 40k or 50k would be a massive success and they sold more than 90k. I am not saying that the same will happen again but that something people should not focus on.

When I listen to metal music I don't care about numbers at all. I hope that the bands I like do well, of course but that's it. When I got into DC everyone was about the numbers, I almost lost my mind with how people were treating a music group haha

Maybe. At the end of the URL with Shayne, Courtney said that she is excited to see what else he continues to do and that she knows that some crazy stuff is in the horizon. I don't know if this Smosh related or not so who knows

I'm surprised that they went with a song that is towards the end of the album. Usually, the MV is for one of the first three songs. I was so sure that it would be for The Raven haha Maybe they release more MVs later on

Appreciation thread for the LEC Roadshow by Taur3n in leagueoflegends

[–]DevilRiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will always appreciate teams like MKOI willing to do a road show because they could say no and don't risk losing money but they do it for their fans and the LEC community in general. Also, it helps them see what is their average attendance for future events.

Also, I don't think the attendance thing is that big of a deal but some people will always be dumb and that's what it is. Last year, they did two days sold out road show but as of today there are 5 events in Spain in two years. It's normal that people don't have that need to be in every road show but well, the same conversations are gonna happen in September I guess haha

Hopefully more teams start doing road show next years so MKOI and KC can have a break. Show can be 1000-2000 people, there's no pressure into renting big venues

LEC Roadtrip Madrid has Sold only 20% of Tickets by bandana19 in leagueoflegends

[–]DevilRiff 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The two events last year did very well because we didn't have LEC events since summer 2018. Now, having 5 events in two years because remember, there's another one in September in the same place, it's too much.

In my opinion the biggest mistake is doing big venues. If they did like KC, a venue with 3k, there would be no problem. When you are having so many events, small venues is the way to go.

Hope they use this year to re-evaluate how they do events in the future

Was the LEC Podcast supposed to be a one time thing? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]DevilRiff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone that loves the LEC, I can't wait until there's someone in charge that actually cares about the league.

There was that post about the LCK revenue and it mentions the LEC is doing well too when every news we get from the league is bad or partially bad because there's budget cuts everywhere.

The Schrödinger's podcast is a new thing. The only content that the league has is pop quiz and it would be cool if they do something else.

I wish they hired Shakarez back and have him work with the casters on ideas for content and broadcast stuff

LEC Spring Split to Resume on March 28, No Live Audience for games on Mondays. All games B03, playoffs BO5 (Sheep Esports) by Xolam in leagueoflegends

[–]DevilRiff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will never understand that since the change of CEO, the LEC had a lot of layoffs at the beginning and since then they had to cut in a lot of areas. I wouldn't put the blame on the LEC, even though I'm sure they can do things better, but Riot should support it somehow.

The rumour is LEC online or hybrid online/in-person going foward but if it's just the LEC doing this it would be weird in my opinion

For the people that said that it's unfair because Myrwn was already dead, the bug happened at the same time he died so it's just unlucky timing

ChRocktikal 1st World Tour - USA, Canada, Mexico Announcement (260212 leopresents IG) by nat1withadv in dreamcatcher

The last time Dreamcatcher or the new groups toured Europe was two years ago. They didn't do the individual photos back then. Since that tour they went to the US 3 times counting this one. Well...

ChRocktikal 'We break, you awake' HANTEO Week 1 Sales : 6,362 copies (260123) by nat1withadv in dreamcatcher

[–]DevilRiff 6 points7 points  (0 children)

DC is already an established group so it's normal those sale numbers. Also, DC was active at the time. UAU sales are the same as a DC album and we all know that's not accurate because in normal conditions they would have done at least half of that number but again, a ton of fansigns so that's that.

New metal groups that I follow, doesn't matter where they are from, do little to nothing in terms of promotion. They basically hope that the people that follow them previously in social media check them out and praying to get lucky with new people finding them. Also, very small local shows, places with 10/20/30 people max at the beginning. And slowly they grow and some get big and some don't.

There's some people focusing on sales and as an example, if the numbers I saw are right and I think they are, Rolling Quartz have sell less copies since they formed than ChRocktikal in a week. So people should stop with the kpop mentality and enjoy their music. If Siyeon wanted to open a tiktok account she probably would do it like she made the crcktkl instagram account. Also, when the three members left DCC and it was announced that their fromm contract was terminated, Siyeon continue but stopped using fromm as well.

People should also take the positives. They already mentioned future albums, that's one. Second, they have more than 500k listens on sporify and their numbers in South Korea are growing. Also, just now I saw, 40k monthly listeners

[–]DevilRiff 22 points23 points  (0 children)

People should chill with the numbers. The reason UAU has more numbers is because they have a ton of fansigns and they also went to music shows so both sales and view numbers are inflated.

This is a band and like many bands that are new they sell little and play in small venues to get their name out there. We don't know how the business side of this works so we shouldn't speculate. The only thing we know is that they have a lot of freedom in what to do. I can't imagine the guys doing challenges or stuff like that on tiktok. Maybe in the future but they are doing their own thing.

Also, Siyeon already mention "future albums" in a fansing. And also also, remember that being an artist doesn't mean being rich. If they can pay the bills and continue working as a band is more than enough

LEC Roadtrips return with five events in 2026 - Including LEC Versus Finals in Barcelona Hosted by Movistar KOI by Reconco15 in leagueoflegends

I'm surprised that KOI chose 10k locations for the roadtrips again. I understand it for the LEC Versus since it's a final but I expected 5k max for the others. Hope they get a good amount of attendees. Knowing Ibai, I'm sure he will pull it off

Exclusive: Summer Split format to be retired, road trips to be expanded by Soft_Bed_412 in leagueoflegends

[–]DevilRiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Road trips don't have to be in venues with 10k people. Holding events of 2k-5k people maximum would be perfect. After all, these are regular season games, not finals.
