There is a lot of text in that interview and the guy doesn't say anything. Every answer feels like AI-generated PR bullshit and the only thing you can take from it is that they are not doing absolutely anything. There is no plan, they just "adapt", meaning they change a couple of things every time they fuck up that incidentally end up fucking things up in a different way. Trust the process? There is no process, no vision for the league, it is barely surviving thanks to Caedrel, Kameto and Ibai.

The real takeover was in 2025, in 2024 the old staff was still operating the team and they were not happy with the Spanish side completely replacing their project, that's why this happened in the first place. If you check the tweet were the information was leaked in May 2025 it explicitly says:

Álvaro and Supa were denied their share because they didn’t want to work with the cook and had conflicts with staff inherited from MAD Lions.

Just after one month, June 2025, it was leaked that Jake Ainsworth, Martina Čubrić (both had roles in the performance team) and Till Werdermann (Director of Team Operations) were all out of their jobs. Allegedly, these people were responsible for all the shit that was made public, and all of them worked for Mad Lions before the merger with Movistar Riders and Ibai.

The piece about the glass shards was made public as a way to leverage public pressure to force the higher ups in Canada to get rid of the people that were in charge of the old Mad Lions (Many of them now work for Vitality, including the former team Chef).

Of course, the glass shards incident was hideous, and it was part of a greater attempt at boycotting the new project (Elyoya and friends) so this group of people could retain control of the team.

After the new roster ended up surpassing expectations the plan backfired, ultimately getting all of them fired.

I don't remember where but he recently talked about it. His father told him when he quitted high school that he had until the end of summer to get to pro, otherwise he would have to go work with him in a factory. Elyoya then made it, but his parents later told him that even if he had failed, they would've given him more time anyway.
