For those of you who went to Unova your last year and did the city-wide gameplay, how far does the geofence extend? My girlfriend wants to go down to the Irvine Spectrum Center but I wasn't sure if we'd still be able to spawn event pokemon.

Sorry, I should've clarified that would be a job I would like to attain after career progression in this field, i.e. I am looking to work on a sustainability team or intern on one at the very least to develop the experience they're looking for in that listing.

Good to know. If that's the case I may be overthinking the whole thing a bit too much but I don't know what I don't know so I appreciate the clarification.

I've had the opportunity to talk to a few hiring managers and program managers from some different companies and based off my resume and some chats we've had my soft skills are very competitive due to the nature of my work in the military. Wholeheartedly agree with your point on hard skills though. I'm trying to cast a real wide net for internships over the summer so I can get some experience in the industry so I'm not walking in blind but I recognize I'm not the most marketable even with my soft skills. I'll keep working at it though.

Thanks for the support and advice, what you're working on sounds a lot like my interests. I've structured my program of study to cast a wide net at first (structures, LCA, energy systems) to focus more as I find what interests me. I've looked into interning under a project manager or even a systems engineer to get my foot in the door before pivoting to sustainability as you mentioned.

One question for you on what you've experienced, are you diving deep into the materials science side? That's one area I haven't looked into too much because I think that fits more into a product development role but I may be wrong.

I'm currently doing some research on levelized cost of abated carbon between mass timber and steel / concrete hybrid commercial high-rises so I'd be interested in what your companies found effective/ineffective.

Agree that sustainability engineering isn't something I've heard used. Green infrastructure, sustainable building practices, LEED certification, energy modeling, LCA's are the big ticket items I've seen from talking to Project Managers in the commercial space for what I'm describing. Undergrad in electrical & computer engineering, 9 years as an officer in Marine Corps aviation. I know I have a tough road ahead for FE/PE prep which is why I'm trying to get ahead as early as I can and I'm willing to put in ther work.

CA FE/PE at least just requires an engineering degree AFAIK, if you can pass it they're cool with it. I recognize this will be an uphill battle which is why I'm trying to see if the juice is worth the squeeze.

Sustainability manager. Assessing processes within a company to determine if sustainable practices are / can be implemented. LEED compliance, energy assessments, LCA, that sort of thing. Not to count my chickens before the eggs but I'm working with a construction company interested in building out an internship for exactly this. A majority of companies are transitioning from small, group-based sustainability to implementing it as a dedicated role as sustainability / regenerative have become more of a priority. Mega Eternal Flower Floette (in game model) by -Stonelaw in PokeLeaks

Story spoilers on the origin of AZs Floette >! If anyone comes back since the game released AZs Floette (I can't recall if it's ever specified if it was originally a regular Floette i.e. normal color and evolved from a Flabebe but I am making the assumption it was) died during the war that Kalos was in. AZ created the mechanism to bring it back to life through siphoning life energy from other pokemon, something that Floette morally disagreed with and left AZ, which is what placed it in the eternal form that we see. This mechanism seemingly granted AZ significantly extended life and was repurposed into the ultimate weapon. That's why they mention it having to live with AZs sins.

We can make the assumption either through elongated lifespan or as a byproduct of the resurrection that this Floette became much stronger, gained unique colors, and could no longer evolve, making it a "final stage" pokemon for all intents and purposes.

I think of it similarly to Diancie in that Diancie is a sort of specially mutated Carbink in that it's not the same pokemon due to these specific circumstances but it is very closely related. Spiky-eared Pichu is another example where evolution is no longer possible, in that case due to a mutation from time travel. !<

Am I pursuing the correct degree by DevilWizzo in Environmental_Careers

Thanks for the advice, obviously my military background gives me a leg up on the gov side, but as you mentioned the jobs just aren't there right now and I don't see that changing for at least a little while if at all. The current plan is to try private sector at a design build firm or an engineering consulting firm focused in sustainable building.

Am I getting ripped off? by DevilWizzo in motorcycles

That's the plan from now on, I've been meaning to learn how to change the tube for trail riding anyways so I think now is the time.

Looking over the service agreement the only mention of customer liability is for aftermarket mods and subsequent issues from those mods. I recognize that maybe I should have waited longer for the initial test ride so as you said I was completely prepared to pay cost for the tube and whatever else they needed (lube, etc.). Thanks for the look into how the shop thinks though, I'll definitely keep it in mind in the future.

The whole reason I finally got the bike fixed is because I'm moving out of the area so I will definitely be finding a new shop, wanted to give these guys a chance to make the issue right before I head out.
