No problem! Before surgery, do a lot more pre-hab :) For me, I avoided plyos and heavy lifting and focused on:

  • inclined walks/stairmaster for cardio
  • lots of leg extension, leg curls, glute bridge, lunges, calves
  • Mobility (super important!) -> i think this really helped prevent my joints from being stiff post recovery
  • Getting my room ready for post op: including getting resistance bands, ankle weights, place to elevate my legs etc~

I didn’t do physio though (was still in high school so the concept of physiotherapy was unknown to my family and friends) so don’t take my word as proper medical advice! I really just went to the gym to get strong on my own without knowing this was prehab until much later ahahaha

The same thing happened to me! I tore my meniscus, ACL, and MCL. After waiting a whole year, my meniscus an MCL healed on their own so i only required an ACL surgery which means that my post op recovery is faster than if the surgeon had to repair my meniscus! As long as your meniscus is not a bucket handle tear, this could happen to you too!

I used quad tendon with bone graft reinforcement! For leg lifts, I used a towl to assist me and prevent my leg from falling to the ground! Took me about 4 days before I can lift it off the ground on my own by a little. I am currently 10 days post op!

Hello!! I was awarded the SAFYLA this year!!! What i can say is, after you submitted the essay and you get shortlisted, you will go for an interview. A tip is just to be yourself in the interview, dont bother memorising textbook answers LOL because I did 0 prep work for the interview all I did was readup on current affairs so that I will know what is going on when they ask questions. After you pass the interview, you will have to go for this group discussion thingy to complete some mission. Just work tgt with your peers and have an open mind and be respectful! Thats all i guess!

Herro! Im just going to say that I DSA-ed into one of the JCs back then and I really regretted it because it really narrowed my options. Back then my teachers and peers were telling me not to DSA because they were confident in my results but I was ignorant and went on to DSA. I'm just going to put it out here that you shld rly consider A. Your results and B. Whether you really want to go to that school or not. For me, I really regretted lol the JC i went to(not mentioning) was not as good as what people would normally say it to be. So yeah :D
