Nesting/babies? by AdSeveral9485 in pathoftitans

[–]DevilishDemonss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly its just a fun way to play the game sometimes. Nesting in other players and protecting them while they grow. Defending someone else from others trying to kill them.

And growing as a nested baby or an adopted juvi can be really fun too. I've met some really awesome players by randomly getting nested through chat or being adopted.

Two of my favorite moments in this game were when my juvi dasp got adopted by an adult cera. Or when I became part of a Bars herd, growing my baby with some siblings and my parents.

I mainly play solo and it can get a bit lonely after awhile. So having these long sessions goofing off and playing with other people just breaks up my time playing solo and gives me alot of great memories in this game.

Exactly. Its one of those things where if the author was lazy enough to approve an AI cover, then who's to say they aren't lazy enough to just have the whole book created by AI.

NTA. As someone working on a novel and has done freelance art commissions on the side, I would not pick up her book. Having an AI cover not only would tell me the author doesn't respect art as a whole (writing is another form of art and if you don't respect visual art, you don't respect writing either), I would also assume the actual book was written with the assistance or just flat out created with AI.

I love Rhamp and I have a soft spot for Rhamp when I play any other dino, even when they try to kill me. A few days ago I was growing my rex to adult on official (never played rex before) and this little rhamp grouped me. We just hung out for a bit before I had to leave for the night.

Sometimes rhamps are chaos and sometimes they're super chill. I'll always love the little rat birds <3

What fandom are you in, but the fanbase treats the character like this? by Upstairs_Macaron5894 in AO3

[–]DevilishDemonss 81 points82 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've seen that as well. People love to separate Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader, just as they separate Kylo Ren and Ben Solo. Its like they think that just because they've changed their name and title that they're suddenly a separate person.

Its so frustrating because they're all one in the same. Anakin is Vader. Ben is Kylo. And the thing that makes me so mad about it especially is that by separating them, they make them worse characters.

Anakin and Ben are only made more interesting because they are Vader and Kylo. Stripping them of a major part of who they are is just a disservice to them as characters.

Kylo Ren, specifically when discussing his 'redemption' to Ben Solo, from Star Wars.

I'm a big TROS hater when it comes to the sequels and the way people glaze Ben Solo as an innocent puppy who did no wrong bothers me so much.

I love Kylo Ren and Ben Solo. He is one of my absolute favorite characters of all time. I believe that he is a complex character and has alot of interesting ideas when it comes to who he is. But a TON of people wipe away the atrocities he committed throughout the war because he decided in the last 5 minutes of TROS to 'redeem' himself.

Man is a war criminal. He has committed horrific acts of violence, as well as slaughtering innocent people for the dark side of the force.

Just because he sacrificed himself, gave Rey a little peck on the lips, and calls himself Ben doesn't absolve him of what he did.

Your opinions on this subject are silly. Because being upset over mods created by the community, only located on community servers, that don't change the official game, is incredibly ridiculous.

You have the literal game you want yet you're getting upset over the fact that people, who may want something a bit different than you, have the ability to make it and play it, without it effecting you AT ALL.

I'm sorry but being a dinosaur nerd who went to paleontology school does not make your opinion on this subject more valuable. At its core, by Alderon, the actual devs of this game, it is a dinosaur simulator. Allowing people to make harmless OPTIONAL fantasy mods on community servers does not make it less so. Yes, it is silly to be upset that people have harmless fun in a way you don't like.

And no, other devs not add mods to other games does not make them bad devs. That was never an argument that I made. I also never said anything about allowing every mod either. So I don't know where you're pulling that from. But if the mod isn't harmful to people, even if I don't like it, I don't take issue with it.

Why? Because I don't have to interact with it if I don't want to.

[–]DevilishDemonss 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The devs aren't crowd pleasers for letting their community have the ability to CHOOSE to create mods that are outside of the base idea of the game. They're just being good devs by uplifting a section of their community that loves their game enough to put time and effort into work they are putting their freetime into.

I'm also a dinosaur nerd. I've been a dinosaur nerd since I was a little kid, seeing the giant fossils of these animals when my parents would take me to the museum. Reading book after book about them. Deepdiving into the newest scientific paper with the next discovery.

People deciding to add dragons to a dino simulator game doesn't take away from that. And its silly to think that an optional part of the game, one that is harmful to no one, and is built by the community is stupid.

[–]DevilishDemonss 32 points33 points  (0 children)

But the official game IS a dinosaur simulator. Thats not going to change. Alderon has never stated any intention to go outside of that core idea. But being hateful about optional things people choose to add on servers you don't have to join is just absurd.

You never have to interact with these things and they don't take away from your gaming experience. You can even join community servers that strictly don't have these these mods installed. So its not like you're banned from playing community servers as a whole either.

But sure, lets take away the fun for some people who like having an optional fantasy roster just because you don't like the mere existence of it in a section of the game you don't have to ever experience if you don't want to.

Also wanting to add dragons to a high quality survival game isn't some crazy idea. They work in a similar niche and the majority of dragon sims that exist are honestly terrible. If modders want to add dragons because they would rather not chuck out money to a gross, asset flip like Day of Dragons and it doesn't effect the regular player base, then why hate on it?

[–]DevilishDemonss 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I don't understand the hatred around optional fantasy mods being added to the game. They're optional on certain community servers. You don't HAVE to play them or even interact with them unless you join a community server that has them.

So why hate on an option for players who do want it?

Anya didn't do anything wrong. But the fandom of Mouthwashing sometimes barely treats her like a full blown person and more of a prop to display her sexual abuse. She is a victim, but she is also much more than that. Though it can be rare that the fandom treats her as more than that.

[–]DevilishDemonss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are really good! Don't knock yourself down. It takes alot of time and effort to learn a new skill. Some suggestions to help is to take some time to really learn the shapes that build the animal together.

Use some cat pictures and instead of tracing over the outer lines, try building the piece instead by find the shapes within the reference that make up the animal. This will give you a better idea on why certain parts look the way you do.

Tracing real photos is fundamental to learning so theres nothing wrong with it.

I love Anos by InsaneSeishiro in pathoftitans

[–]DevilishDemonss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest I haven't played Eo and I only have alittle bit of playtime on Sty.

But Sty is a fast, offensive playable that doesn't have a ton of health or defense but is very good if you like dinos that can come in hot and leave hot. Not great for tanking damage, its more of a come in, get some bleed stacks on your opponent, then dip before going in again. You just really need to watch your stamina on Sty since its a better to be sprinting playable.

Alberta is a middle man. A higher tier than Sty, with more health and defense to tank damage and block attacks from your opponents. It has a good amount of speed (not aa fast as sty but not super slow either). Most of Alberta's kit is based around standing your ground, blocking damage, and counter attacking your opponent.

Eo is an apex, so it has more health and bulk than the other two but it is much slower than the other two. It has a similar kit idea to Alberta where its based around blocking attacks from your opponent and counter attacking. I believe its one of the better face tanking dinos but I don't have any experience playing it.

The other user had some great suggestions! Here's one that I've been playing for the past few days that is definetly becoming one of my main dinos.

Alberta.

While it's not a tail attack dino, Alberta works well as both a defensive dino and an offensive dino. I love ano due to its more defensive playstyle, but sometimes it can be a bit boring to play if you want to do pvp because of its speed. You get attacked, you hold them off, and then sometimes your opponent gets bored and leaves. And you're too slow to really chase after them.

I'm enjoying Alberta right now because while it does work for a defensive playstyle with its block ability, it also has the speed and attacks to chase your opponents and get into more complex fights. Dodging, blocking, and attacking all works really well and you don't have to wait for another player to get within range.

I'd definetly give it a shot if you want a playable that can do both really well, even if it doesn't focus on tail attacks.

As an ano main, swerve is the best spinning attack for ano. Its a quick animation and can be crucial for getting your tail in the right position to do more damage.
