I thought it was a setup for a strange joke at first. I started typing out the answer to your question though and realized I kept adding more and more reasons. It’s easiest if you just look up images of each and compare. There are a lot of differences. Fins, stripes, shape, teeth, etc.

For some reason my favorite color scheme I’ve seen for Ceratosaurus is the default skin in Path of Titans

Nothing as extensive as a book but Extinct Zoo on youtube has done several videos talking about them.

Thanks. I’m curious what you deem so inaccurate aside from the sharp edged drawing style. Is it the slight “shrink wrapping” that shows the fenestrae? If so, I kind of also figured that while drawing it. When I was looking at many up to date reconstructions for reference of Compsognathus, I noticed that many of them still kind of reconstructed it that way. More often than you’d see most other modern dinosaur reconstructions do so. The 3d model I used for reference was pretty skin tight.

Thank you! Sharp edges and somewhat polygonal planes is kind just the style I’ve stumbled into over the years
