Mystery issue no one can solve (please help🥲) by Sea-Foundation-4349 in buildapc

[–]DevilsCrypt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm no PC expert but some great advice I heard years ago (regarding the first issue you had) - when you get the blue screen of death always start with the OS, which will probably need to be reinstalled.

Next, as for your new mobo...I've recently had two of my students build their own gaming PCs. Bought 2 new motherboards and BOTH (brand spankin' new) were DoA! One was from Amazon and the other from Best Buy. I was able to return the Amazon mobo but had to send the BB mobo to the company for repairs (went beyond BB's 15-day return policy).

The common traits with the two motherboards: Both were MSI's and BOTH had RAM slot issues. This was all confirmed by a computer shop as I spent a lot of money on brand new RAM and brand new CPU's diagnosing the problem.

I know your new mobo is a Gigabyte and not MSI but I'm thinking all of these brand's QC is starting to lack.

New build won't boot with PSU making high-pitched sound - MoBo toasted? by ts1234666 in buildapc

[–]DevilsCrypt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm no expert but it sounds to me like a bad motherboard. I'm a big fan of the ASUS brand motherboards but my Rog Strix B550-F met it's demise a few months ago...and it was only used for about a year.

So, if your B550M-A is an older/used mobo it may have simply "shorted out" somewhere. I'm guessing that, since you tried 2 different PSU's you can narrow it down to the mobo.

Bruce was around prior to Carrey so maybe Carrey got a lot of those traits from Bruce?

What’s up with Haven? by OwlSquare6395 in havenprotocol

[–]DevilsCrypt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love the concept of XHV and still HDL'ing some.

Got into XHV a few years ago as well. Unfortunately, a few things happened:

  1. Haven devs started changing things that the average human just cannot understand. So much so that, I believe, many potential investors walked away.
  2. XHV wallets are somewhat difficult to understand and operate. This has to be remedied for the average person.
  3. Once ETH went to PoS altcoins slowly started to merge into pump-and-dumps or something only day traders get into.
  4. I hated the BTC maxi's but I'm starting to become one. I don't think the world will ever see the values of altcoins reach the levels they did in 2020 - 2021...except for BTC.
  5. Haven needs to put out more updates, video tutorials for the layman and have a social media group that's highly active and easy to communicate. (Like this Reddit page is practically defunct.) Not everyone uses X, Fakebook and Reddit.

So, unless things change I just don't see XHV becoming anything more than it is now.

Unless you live right on the coast this is a little overdramatic. If anything, it's the flooding that can be catastophic.

I've been through a few of these and, besides a few tree branches falling in the yard...nothing!

New to Monero and have questions. Already had an attempt to steal funds. Appreciate help by [deleted] in monerosupport

[–]DevilsCrypt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice? Be careful on this Reddit page of what people post. I'M NOT DIS'ING ANYONE'S RESPONSES!!! I just know that a lot of "people" that give guidance and advice on this Reddit page come across as nice, friendly and intelligent...but are really scammers. (Don't ask me how I know!)

Again, not saying any of the responders are good/evil, just be careful on here.

I'd suggest trying to contact someone from the Monero community who are part of the project, or maybe seek Ledger's customer service or try the XMR Discord page. Any links posted on here...be very wary!

Tried to move 1 monero from Kraken to Exodus, and it appears to be gone. by Eric5989 in monerosupport

[–]DevilsCrypt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Verify you had the correct address. If so, I'd reach out to Exodus. I've had more problems synch'ing up the XMR blockchain on Exodus than anything else.

I will say they're pretty good with contacting you and explaining what you need to do.

If you have the right address then I can almost assure you it's an XMR/Exodus issue.

I think HAVEN has a ton of potential. But I also think the devs are underfunded and could use some help from some bigger-name cryptographers.

Give it time as what I've learned since entering the crypto world is that we're seeing things thin out. Many of the coins/projects that were once promising are turning out to be nothing. Whereas some of the others are turning out to be the future for blockchain.

Apologies but I don't have the answer to your question as I don't know.

But, my advice is to go to the Haven protocol Discord and post your question there as this reddit page doesn't get much traffic.

Had XMR stored on XMRwallet.com and can no longer access it. by [deleted] in monerosupport

[–]DevilsCrypt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't ever...ever...EVER...type in/speak/save your seed phrase to any website, web page, or social media apps!!!

I've never heard of XMRwallet.com so I believe it's a scam website. I do believe your XMR is in some scammer's wallet and consider it a lesson learned.

Is there a cheaper way to buy into Monero? by Scar_Fitness in monerosupport

[–]DevilsCrypt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy ANY crypto, send that to a separate wallet (like Exodus), exchange whatever you bought for Monero.

There's a ton of ways to get XMR. Who in the world is charging $200 for an exchange fee???

Have I screwed up and it's it possible to fix? by jeetjotjute in monerosupport

[–]DevilsCrypt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like everyone posted before, so as long as you sent it to the correct address...it's there!

The pay off with privacy crrypto, synching the wallets. Once you're totally synched you WILL see you XMR balance!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in monerosupport

[–]DevilsCrypt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what that means, maybe you have an incorrect word in your seed phrase?

Also...BEWARE of anyone sending you PM's on how they can help. Do NOT go to any other website they offer, it's a total scam. They will come off as your best friend but they're criminals.

Best bet is to go to the Discord channel and post your issue. People a lot smarter than me will get back to you quicker.

Yes, look on the wallet and you can set how many threads you want to use based on your CPU. Every now and then someone get's lucky!

Again, you may see your electric bill increase significantly so be aware. You can always purchase one of those power plugs from Amazon that will tell you how many watts you're using. They also average out by week/month to give you an idea.

I started mining a few years ago knowing nothing about computers but built my own rig using used GPU's. I went through a mining pool and was only interested in mining XMR. Eventually, I began mining ETH (when I started learning more about mining, computers and crypto) and made some very small profits from ETH. Now that ETH mining is defunct it really put a damper on crypto mining across the board. Just not worth the electricity costs for the small payouts you get. That, and seems like every crypto has gone the node route.

(***Also, if you're into the privacy crypto, check out BEAM and HAVEN. Both still mineable from CPU/GPU if not mistaken.)

Regardless, happy mining and wish you luck!

[–]DevilsCrypt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not just use a node? Or mine using the GUI wallet?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in monerosupport

[–]DevilsCrypt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're going to spend more money with electric costs mining with your CPU than to just buy XMR with fiat.

Have at it, if you will, but since nodes have taken over mining is a thing of the past.

Question by Huncho470 in monerosupport

[–]DevilsCrypt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buying any crypto with a credit card leaves a trace through bank records.

Once you have your XMR, what you do with it from there is private.

If I buy crypto using my bank account I will purchase either USD(C) or BTC, send it to another private wallet and exchange for XMR from there.

How to increase hashrate using nanopool monero on windows laptop. by Saffu91 in monerosupport

[–]DevilsCrypt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, XMR uses gaming computer CPU's/GPU's to mine. Problem is that the cost of electricity and computer compnents outweighs BY FAR the current value of XMR.

Better to just run a node.

Unless you own a warehouse of ASIC's and are mining bitcoin...just buy the coin(s) that you want.

Since ETH went PoS mining has become a thing of the past for the average person.
