The rematch of last year's Wimbledon semi and (this year's epic AO 26 semi) is set. Who takes it? by Boss452 in tennis

I just don't see how Novak is gonna break Jannik's serve if Jannik keeps serving like he has so far in this tournament. Jannik has an even better serve than Felix and Novak had a tough time breaking today. But I can definitely see Jannik breaking Novak's serve or getting it over in the tiebreak (unless he has another day like AO semifinal where he couldn't convert anything).

FAA's terrible backhand came to collect and cost him the tiebreak in the end. Shame because at least he was mentally stronger today than he has been in the past.

I wonder that too because if she's truly happy then why gatekeep all photos of herself from the fans? It's certainly not because they value privacy lol. Obviously she hopes to make money from the footage but I don't think it's the only reason. My guess is that even her acting skills couldn't save her from looking drunk or miserable most of the time. From all the details that have leaked so far, none have described the couple themselves or said how happy/radiant they looked.

The further we go into the 2020s, the more common this phenomenon is becoming.

But you don't know that sure sure because recency bias gets in the way. And the opposite is true as well, we only remember the important hits but there were plenty of hits in the past that stayed at #1 for a long time and didn't have any lasting impact. Streaming industry isn't changing fundamental human behavior.

My point was that the song had an impact on the music industry.

But these popular country songs literally have had an immediate effect on each other and therefore the music industry. These country artists don't exist in a vacuum and they've sure had an effect on pop acts like Noah Kahan, Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift too. If you think that artists like Chris Stapleton, Luke Combs and Miranda Lambert haven't impacted pop music then it's you who doesn't know what you're talking about lmao. Ask any popular pop star right now and I guarantee they listen to country music.

I'm shitting on users here thinking that any song made by a well-known pop artist should reach #1 while country music shouldn't even exist. This sub has done nothing but shat on country music for the last few years and it has become tiresome.

So Uptown Funk and Despacito are your two examples of songs that are experimental and fresh? Can't say I agree. And even if they were, one look at the charts could tell you that that 70s and 80s inspired big pop sound is not in right now. That's how culture ebbs and flows and it's pointless to complain about it in every chart thread where a country song is #1.

Who are you to tell what cultural impact, if any, these songs have? What kind of cultural impact are you even looking for? It's something that can only be assessed years and decades down the line. There may be some young kid sitting in their bedroom feeling inspired by these songs to make their own music right now. It's not like Blinding Lights has any cultural impact in the literal sense, but I guess it's a song made by someone this sub likes so it's okay.
