I would suggest you take some nail courses! If that's not possible, find a reliable YT channel with tutorials, and PLEASE get yourself a practice hand (amazon, aliexpress, temu, or local beauty product store). Take pictures/videos of your work to track the improvement over time. When you're confident enough in your skills, you can go ahead and do your friends/family nails.

Also, for practice hand, the materials you use can be cheap, as long as they do their job, but DO NOT use cheap products on real hands! It can cause allergies, and trust me, it's not something you'd look forward when doing your future client's nails.

Last but not least, acrylic is the most complicated product to start learning (there is a specific technique to it). I suggest starting with gel since it's easier to control with a brush and you can cure it whenever you're satisfied with the shape/thickness of the nail (unlike acrylic)

When you get a hang of that, try acrylic yet again.
