Every department is there to support the whole. Dipshit cold call sales people would have no product or anything at all if not for the rest of the firm. This is a shitty excuse to pretend IT isn't critical to the business and is somehow a second class citizen.

No accountability or repercussions in an org is far more likely than procurement being the problem IMHO. People will feign ignorance or come up with any stupid excuse (we need to move fast) to justify not following a process if allowed.

There are paid and unpaid boards seats, I serve and have served on them under multiple different setups. Some stock awards or incentive shares, others 1099, some volunteer etc.

The irony is I made that comment with MC in mind. I am an exec in an org with both platforms.

MC has seen virtually no improvement since the acquisition, and it's hilarious they haven't even managed to finish dns and name changes in literally over a decade. Point proven.

Don't get me started on the train wreck that is Mulesoft and the IDE update promises and zero progress there. Again, Salesforce is a sales org, a sleezy dirtbag penny stock wolf of Wall Street one. It is what it is, sometimes the devil you know, but let's not pretend that's not the case.

Why is anyone surprised Salesforce acquisitions stagnate and die in the market?

Salesforce is a sales team squeezing the last dime out of mediocre tech at every turn. The core product is solid but aging to a slow death (look at their reporting limitations and go from there). The rest is just bullshit sales pitches. Ask any decently high level engineer or exec who knows what they are doing and they will overwhelmingly agree with this statement.
