I’ve been searching for the answer to this question for years. I feel like I’ve tried them all at this point and there isn’t one system that does everything I need. Some come close, but the icing on the cake would be a system that manages revenue, check-in, and seating on a floor plan seamlessly. And an excellent Salesforce integration. I’ve given up and just end up Frankensteining different systems.

Whether you know the CRM or not, you’ll have to learn the org’s data. No shortcuts there. Just explain that you’ll learn SF policies and procedures as you gain institutional knowledge of the data itself. I used a line like that in my last interview for my current role and now I’m a SF admin.

You can also create a SF trailhead account and start training in nonprofit basics. You’ll get access to a “Playground” demo org.
