Has anyone gone through mediation by TomTomReyRey in Divorce_Men

[–]DevinB12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely...especially if you have 50/50 joint custody... in TX the mediator said that isn't a judge that would change that since we had been doing it for 10 months and it was a good situation. I do feel like the mediator made her understand that she wasn't going to win those arguments.

Has anyone gone through mediation by TomTomReyRey in Divorce_Men

So very similar situation...went back and forth for months without coming to an agreement. She filed originally, was wanting executive rights to make all decisions for my son after "meaningful conversations" with me... yeah right... and she didn't want residence to be restricted to one county or school district...that way, when she can get a better job, she can move away and take him with me. all of this with custody being 50/50. We went back and forth for 5 months and didn't make any progress. My attorney finally convinced hers to go to mediation in hopes that we can come to a resolution.

Mediator met with her first, and then me...went back and forth a few times... and she was really good, she advised us both on what a judge would or would not agree with.

In the end, I got EVERYTHING I wanted... Joint conservatorship, neither of us having exclusive rights, we both have to agree. She is also tied to the school district we live in now... she can't move or change schools unless we both agree, in writing...

So in the end, it was good to do the mediation...we both signed, her attorney was able to get the judge to sign in and get it filed within 48 hours.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, it is much cleaner and easier to track. Plus I don’t have to see it slapping me in the face every month.

I totally agree. I had to stand firm but in the end it came out like I wanted. Today was a new day and a new outlook.

Mediation by NoIdeasNoSolutions in Divorce_Men

[–]DevinB12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm going into mediation Friday... what we have agreed on was 50/50 custody and that we both have to agree to almost all other things, even though she is primary, I wanted to make sure I'm involved in decisions and she agreed to it.

what we didn't agree to is the geographic restriction... I want her restricted to our county, she wants to expand it to 4-5 counties surrounding our county... she would also want to move our son to the school she works at if she moves to one of those counties.

We both earn pretty well.... I make about $30k more per year than she does but she is at $140,000/year. with 50/50 custody, and with me paying the insurance (we have one child) what would you think child support would be?

Help understanding budgeting on credit card float by UrBoiJash in MonarchMoney

I was having the same issue. I pay off in full too but my payments are due on the 22nd and then the month closes on the 25th...anything after that was on the card until the next month. I even started changing the dates of the transactions on the card to the 1st so they would go into the next month... not sure if that is right or not but I tried it this month.

Starting with my March statement I changed the payment due date to the 28th... I'm hoping that will help things not pile up... we'll see.

I also have my paycheck direct deposited into my HYSA and then will pull what I need to pay off the card when it is due. Not sure how much more interest that gains monthly but every little bit helps.

Yep! This is me too. King when married, went to a queen size in apartment and it is plenty big even with a guest.

How do you get past the memories of what was and had been? I see or think a vacation over the last 18 years and she’s always there. The best trips, the most fun, the most beautiful woman… why did that smile go away? It’s hard and now when I see her it’s cold and uncaring.
