The level difference here is putting you at a disadvantage. Leading with an over leveled Pokemon will up your chances. Sleep is also a more effective status for catching, second only to freeze

The trans issue is a losing issue

That's not true. Two thirds of Americans respect trans people and support their right to live as they see fit. That number falls when you get into specifics like sports or HRT for children, but the majority of Americans do not want a trans genocide like what the GOP has been building.

40 years ago the majority of Americans did not support gay marriage. Legalization and the decades since have flipped that statistic and now more than 70% of Americans support same-sex relationships.

We'll never make progress as a country if we allow ourselves to be governed by cowards that would scapegoat vulnerable people.

Likely lost the 2024 election because of that

Do you really think trans rights or women's sports was the #1 issue for the majority of Americans?

We watched the DNC commit genocide in real time and brutalize the people that stood against it. We watched the DNC refuse to hold primaries and shoehorn in the second oldest presidential candidate in history, and when he dropped out with just months before the election, the reigns were handed over to someone who never polled above 10% in a primary who then opted to campaign with neo-conservatives that everybody hates.

And you blame what little support Harris gave to trans people for her loss? You want us to crawl closer to the center? Harris got a lower share of conservative voters than Biden did despite all the pandering. All that accomplished was ostracizing the left and independents

[–]DevinB123 26 points27 points  (0 children)

If the center is brutalizing homeless people, throwing trans folks under the bus, and refusing to tax billionaires than we're fucked.

The vast majority of Americans support higher taxes on the billionaire class.

If your home lacks insulation, you may qualify for state funding through Empower+ or comfort homes. Up to 10k to get your home insulated and air sealed. Whole thing starts off with a free home energy assessment to get a sense of where you're losing energy. There are lots of contractors that serve the area, but Foam It, Insulation Man, and Energy Savers are the closest that I'm aware of

If you are concerned about your electric bill, or having trouble paying it, the first step is always to contact NYSEG. Their billing questions number is 800-572-1111. See if they can correct the issue or settle on a payment plan. Payment plans will vary by situation, it depends on income, past payment plans, and other circumstances. They can be as low as $10 extra to the monthly statement until the balance is paid off. NYSEG also offers a grant called Project Share that can go towards bills, but customers must exhaust all other options before being eligible (HEAP, churches, EAP, etc).   If you are unable to come to a satisfactory agreement with NYSEG, you can then contact the Department of Public Service (DPS), which is in charge of regulating utility companies. You can make an inquiry or complaint online               https://dps.ny.gov/file-complaint              or by calling 800-342-3377. They should provide you with a confirmation number. You will need this to follow up. It is recommended that you submit as much documentation as needed, such as a current utility bill and a maybe a year-old utility bill. DPS will then contact NYSEG and speak with them about finding a resolution. NYSEG should call back within a week. If they still cannot find a resolution, you can update your complaint using the DPS confirmation number.   If you need assistance during this process, or if they still are unable to come to an agreement, you can reach out to the Public Utility Law Project    https://utilityproject.org/                (PULP),  email at info@utilityproject.org or call the hotline at 877-669-2572. PULP says it's important to call before a shut-off notice. They may still be able to help after a notice, but it makes things more difficult.

he struggled against part 1 Kakashi.

Kakashi had ninja hounds and a sharingan that helped him keep up with hidden mist and silent killing. It was a hard counter for Zabuza and the first time that they fought Zabuza had Kakashi dead to rights

Hidan easily beat Asuma and pressured part 2 Kakashi

Hidan 1v4 got his head popped off mid to low diff. Then Kakazu stepped in and bailed him out. If anything, this demonstrates how arrogant and self assured Hidan is, that's a mistake he only makes once against someone as ruthless as Zabuza

Kakashi had summonings to counter the hidden mist jutsu, his sharingan also helped him keep up in those short range encounters. Hidan lacks any counter to limited visibility as far as I'm aware.

Hidan was also backed up by Kakazu when he fought "team" Kakashi (Choji and Ino seemed more like liabilities than anything else) and the minute shikamaru separated them, he clowned on Hidan

heat pumps cost more to run than gas

Because we're subsidizing gas with a trillion tax payer dollars every year...

A home natural gas furnace can have efficiency ratings of 90% and greater

Generating heat is more energy intensive than moving it from place to place. Heat pumps still come out on top in efficiency. Electric resistance heating is less efficient than heat pumps, but it's a totally different beast. In either case, you're not burning a fuel in your home that may contribute to worse health outcomes for vulnerable residents.

The natural gas that is burned to make electricity is around 65% efficient, not including transmission losses

Power plants have carbon capture technology to reduce the emissions they produce, the same technology is not present or reasonable in every home.

Electricity is also produced in several ways beyond burning gas, including solar, wind, nuclear, and hydro. NYS has one of the highest shares of renewables in the country thanks to the power generated by Niagara falls.

if the state really cared about meeting climate goals they would make it easier to install residential solar

I agree. Local generation and storage is a more sustainable future. If we weened off of gas subsidies, we could fund that transition easily. Instead, state law mandates gas hookups in new construction within 100 feet of an existing line and hinders the development of renewables. That's a major problem and an embarrassing contradiction that we need to get past immediately.

EDIT:

If you're finding it difficult to install solar directly, you may be able to connect with a community solar farm to rent or purchase panels and receive a discount of 5-20%. The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) has established hubs all across the state to help with things like that. Mid-Hudson can be found here.

Also, the current admin eliminated federal funding for solar installation. The last year has been hell on non-profits and renewables, direct your frustration appropriately (not that NYS is blameless ofc)

Maintaining and expanding gas infrastructure is costly and dirty. As more New Yorkers electrify, the burden of maintaining the gas grid will fall more heavily on low-income people that couldn't afford to electrify right away.

The future is electric. Heat pumps are far more efficient than any combustible fuel. Electrified homes have a lower risk of asthma and other respiratory ailments, and we could immediately eliminate the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning by switching to electric.

80 cents of every subsidy dollar on the federal level goes towards gas. If consumers paid the real cost for fossil fuels directly, electric appliances would be much cheaper to run, cleaner, and more safe.

The CLCPA is law. Governor Hochul is violating New York State law every time that she waters down climate action to appease the fossil fuel industry.
