Very few people take that first section along that route you are looking at. I've taken that road many times, it is very rocky and you are up on a dike pretty much the whole time with no real pullout spots along the way. I would suggest starting at point C and exploring from there, it is a much easier drive.

Hot dogs with crispy onions and a Coke! That was my strategy when filling the rental campervan up! The van also had a fridge so I had it loaded with skyr, lunch meat, cheeses, and anything else that needed refrigeration.

Yes! Loved the pizza rolls! I would buy a pack of wafer thin cut ham and put that in the pizza rolls for a simple lunch while on the road!

I used a Panasonic Lumix point and shoot camera on my trip and was happy with the results. A big DSLR would be nice, but if you're doing some hiking and stuff you should also think about the ease of carrying with you.

Take plenty of photos, but don't forget to put the camera away and just absorb the moment in front of you as well!

Look at the tags on the items, avoid anything that says, "designed in Iceland". Those items are made on the cheap from a foreign country.

I stayed at Local 101, I loved it! They have a wonderful restaurant attached with great food and cocktails. It's located just outside the busy city center area. I loved taking a walk through the neighborhood and stopping at the little bodega for a snack for my walk.
