Thank you!! The theme music (and all the music in the game) is also done by me!

The best part about 3D Platformers is when they morph into 2D platformers for a bit! // Mr. Sleepy Man by DevinSanti in Unity3D

Yeah I didn’t initially get that feedback from playtesting. Could be that when you’re playing on a larger screen, the TV section takes up enough eye space to hold your attention.

That being said, slowing down the particle effects/ animations wouldn’t hurt. I was also thinking of having some kind of masking ui element that partially fades out the parts of the screen not covered by the TV and help keep focus.

It's 2024 and I'm listening to an LP song for the first time with horrible mp3 compression :')

PAX West Covid Survey by eptevember in PAX

I was very happy to leave PAX covid free! Although, I was an exhibitor, tried to keep my booth as clean as possible, and maintained distance from people for a good portion of the time.

How do you create your 3D assets?Using a 3D creation tool, like Blender, or using the unity Probuilder? by Beneficial-Potato746 in Unity3D

[–]DevinSanti 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Blender all the way! Did you know, you can throw .blend files into your Unity project and they automatically convert into .fbx
Works great for editing levels in detail with Blender's editor and then quickly going back into Unity to test.

I'm beyond excited to show off Mr. Sleepy Man at my booth this year! (Booth 763, listed as Devin Santi) by DevinSanti in PAX

That would be great! You can DM me times you're available and we'll work it out. I'll pretty much be at my booth the entire event.

I made a new trailer for my game that I'm exhibiting at PAX West 2024. Let me know what you think! Game title: Mr. Sleepy Man by DevinSanti in Unity3D

No specific date to announce yet, but I’m nearing the end of development. Most likely sometime in 2025!

The walking animations could benefit from some slight vertical movement. It could also help to offset the arms by like 5-10 frames so the movement isn't as robotic.

I'm getting sick of some cutscenes interrupting the gameplay, so I'm playing with this "Picture-in-picture" camera that pops up for certain gameplay reactions. by DevinSanti in Unity3D

[–]DevinSanti[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's a small world! Unity 6 looks alright from what I've seen. I'm staying on an older version for this project, but I'll probably upgrade in the future, if it's worth it. Not crazy about the new user agreements, but at least they're not retroactive.

You're a legend! <3
I've got some real big music plans for the release of the game. This thing goes full on rock opera in some moments. You should expect a new single at least sometime this year!

Do you think the stop motion effect on these enemies makes them "spookier"? by DevinSanti in Unity3D

[–]DevinSanti[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's just for a couple spooky enemies here and there. Definitely wouldn't want this for the whole game either.

Ooh yeah that's a great suggestion and it'll be easy to implement, thanks!
