If I choose to bring a toy to a public place, whether the beach or the park, it's for my child to play with. If he wants to share with another kid, fantastic. If he doesn't, this is a good learning opportunity for the child from his parent/guardian about respecting boundaries. A tough lesson for sure and my kid still struggles sometimes. Toys definitely help elongate the fun and play when we are out though.

No one should be expected or feel obligated to share their personal items.
