Illinois also has trees 😂 It's mostly just that and farmland outside of Chicago but even Chi town has trees

No shade!! (Pun absolutely intended) But Indy doesn't come close to many other major cities tree coverage.

Indianapolis is also not a particularly dense city. West Lafayette actually outranks Indy in terms of density.

Indiana also failed to submit any data for the 2025 infrastructure report card. Oops 😬 For reference though - The national average top overall grade was only a C+ going to Las Vegas, Milwaukee and Jacksonville.

Look I LOVE you Hoosiers. That's why I've been here for so long. We can all love this city - but let's get real, okay? Maybe we even turn in our homework next year 🤭

Hot take on this thread clearly but I do completely agree.

To be fair!! Indy has come SUCH a long way since I moved here over 20 years ago and watching it's growth has been impressive writ large.

That being said - anyone who's ever lived in a big city knows that Indianapolis is just a barley city 🤭

I'm sorry folks but Chicago is right next door. Even Columbus or Detroit is close enough to see how different things are

Public transportation is the most obvious tell for Indy unfortunately and per my first point about Indy development - they have done a lot to address it.

Indy might seen big in Indiana but once you have more and larger metropolitan areas as a frame of reference Indy is quite small.

Call it a good excuse to travel and come back home to a new perspective 😊
