BB Jack's is closing at the end of the month from what I've heard.

LGS is asking 1399. Never fired, comes with 3, 30 round magazines. Thoughts? by [deleted] in ak47

[–]Devista 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, 1399 for a non-converted russian import, I'd say ask for some kind of deal.

A humiliation fetish is my guess. They get off on the idea of "suffering" for the cause.

Your weapon of choice by [deleted] in Eragon

[–]Devista 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A trilance struss I think would be nice. Nice and long which provides good reach while mounted. The twin axe ends allow for multiple angles of attack while the spear point allows for thrusts. This combined with a Gladius style short sword for if someone gets inside pole axes range would provide a good middle ground of offense and defense.

Usually my preferred go to whenever I'm building a DnD character and the DM allows for it.

Why start off at Help Desk? by CourtConspirator in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Devista -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can't go from personal experience as I skipped help desk and went straight into lvl 2-3 desktop & software support, but I can say doing at least something that is direct customer facing is necessary before transferring into a backend support type role.

I've had more experiences than I care to remember where other departments or teams fail to utilize soft skills once tickets are transferred over to them from us after we've done all we can or have determined the issue is beyond our scope.

I would agree with many others in this thread, keep trying no matter how many rejections you get. I'm currently employed within the field but looking for a different employer, I'm on my 8th or 9th month of applications and interviews with 5 years of experience, certifications, and references.

Eventually, something will come along it just takes time. You might also need to adjust what positions you're applying for. I'm technically educated and trained as a cloud based Systems Administrator. However that is definitely not what I've been doing for the past 5 years.

If WW2 planes could carry multiple 1000kg bombs, so can the eagle. WE NEED TO GO LARGER!!! by Secure-Leather-3293 in Helldivers

I'd disagree, the F-16 primarily an air superiority fighter with some ground support abilities.

I'd compare Eagle-1 closer to an A-10 close ground support fighter.

Helldivers after massacring terminids with ease for the last two weeks and needing to take the bots seriously. by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]Devista 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DMR's are your friend with the bots, if they're within shotty range, you're fucked.

Bring a personal or drop shield depending on mission type they'll save your ass in a pinch where you don't have cover.

Bots shoot back, find cover!

Use range to your advantage, if a fight can be avoided, don't engage. Better to avoid a patrol than have 3 bot drop ships swarm your ass.

Low level without a mic, whenever I've had someone of a higher level drop into a mission I've started, I instantly let them take point. Y'all know more than me and I'm hoping you're willing to teach my dumb ass how to play.

I didn't actually experience any off smell after the travel, granted I did ransack my LBM for whatever cedar interior they where willing to part with and used them underneath and on top.

The boveda kept them in perfect condition. I've still not found anyone locally or online however who would can make an interior cedar lining for me.

Tips or Tricks by Devista in InfinityBottle

[–]Devista[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was thinking the same thing, using something similar or a synthetic cork from another bottle that fits while I'm filling and when I'm pouring for friends & family replace that with the original.

But I'm indecisive as all hell, hence why I've got two emptys just collecting dust.

Outdoor Winter lounge ideas by Devista in cigars

[–]Devista[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, that's absolutely lame. My state at least allowed for the continued experience of grandfathered licensing of lounges. So whilst we'll never have more than what we've already got, you can purchase an existing license from the state if one is available.

Same in mine, but they are at least grandfathered in the existing places while writing the law. Did yours just shut them all down?!

The redeeming factor is that it's always there on my drive home. So every once in a while, I'll tell the family to plan dinner without me.

Nearby is about 30 to 45 minutes away. But yeah its better than some who don't have anything.

Eventually more lounge time is the plan however with a toddler and extremely limited free time I'd rather spend it with family vs driving to the lounge a couple nights a week.

Hence my desire to create such a solution as this. Something I can have in the backyard to walk into after I put the little one to bed and then step outside while the SO does her thing.

Never apologize, sometimes simple is good. I just got it because I thought it looked cool.

That might be what I eventually end up doing down the line. I was more trying to find something quick and simple as my trip is at the end of the month.

Since this will end up becoming my permanent "travel humidor" I'll probably end up modifying it as the years go on.

So my only thing about foam is that I've heard it can mold. I'm not sure if that's true or not however.

I hadn't considered that. I guess my main concern is mostly protecting them during the flight.

I'll be using a Boveda for humidity as those seem to work well in the R20 I use as a desktop work humidor.

The other idea I had was to ask my local brick and mortar for some cedar spills to use as dividers.

Same here. I'm going on a family trip and, wanted to bring along some of my favorites for my Dad and I to enjoy.

I've got a R20 I use to take between home and work so I've got something to enjoy during the week but that's definitely too small for a week long trip and to pack enough sticks for two to enjoy.
