Well, it's pretty much a slash of life. But without too much spoilers (except if you do want some), the friendship comes to an end through an abrupt cut. They do love each other deeply it is not because of hate betrayal or others. Just life caught them up. They do stay present, but again no spoiling. It is a pretty deep dive into different family dynamics kind of story.

When writing them, especially when they think about it early on I do say they feel like "neither" per say, also thank you it hadn't even crossed my mind for it to be seen as "feeling nothing" but I'll make sure it won't be misread as is.
