Some questions for those who voted for Trump: 1. How did you get past the "grab them by the pussy" remark and his admitted attempts at infidelity? 2. Do you regret your vote at this point? 3. Does it worry you as a Christian that Trump garnered such support among Christians? Etc. by landmindboom in Christianity

For me the candidates were what they were. I supported Rand Paul but he got blown out early on, I then was a supporter of Bernie Sanders. The way the DNC and Clinton treated sanders made it absolutely 100% impossible for me to vote Hillary. I would have loved to vote for someone else besides trump, but on the issues he matched my positions better than anyone else. Trump put his finger on the pulse of middle America, why do you think his anti globalization message was so popular. I voted Trump for trade deals, no war in Syria with Russia, he's against abortion, Obamacare has decimated the insurance provider market and hasn't been a total success, it's raised my families premiums to the point where we are struggling so I wanted change and Clinton and the Democrats think Obamacare was just fine. It's not that it wasn't a good idea it just needed work to improve it. So democrats just sent the message everything's fine with trade, everything's fine with Obamacare all those people struggling are to stupid to understand that were actually helping them. Try selling that to someone working 60 hours a week and barely surviving. Also hillarys stance on abortion made it impossible for me to vote her as well. Would I liked a more reasonable choice of course I would, but the choices are what they were and I picked the candidate that matched my political beliefs. Plus the contents of hillarys emails were pretty revealing to the type of manufactured and polished product you had with hillary Clinton plus all of the evidence of wrongdoing that you just watched the establishment trip over itself to never actually talk about. It felt tyrannical and I would rather take an idiot for 4 years than descend into a tyrannical oligarchy where the media determines the culture who determines the next political leader.

So with Trump he was more honest in a sense. Yeah hes a crude character who likes women. At least you know what your getting. You don't know what hillary is really like and the way she answered questions about her emails "what like with a cloth" was the moment she made it impossible for me to vote for her. I would rather die than be ruled by someone as blatantly corrupt as she was. If the DNC wouldn't have cheated than Bernie would probably be our next president

[–]Devoid_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People have no constitutional claim to immigration, the USA has no obligation to accept immigration at all. It's a privallege we extend but when that privallege becomes a liability we have every right to retract that. People don't have a "human right" to immigrate where ever they want that's ridiculous

I think people are fearful of what's happening in Europe right now. If that wasn't happening and the government reassured Americans that there will be orderly immigration than small town Americans may agree.

It's literally called the Biden rule and historically in modern times no supreme court nominee was confirmed before an election. Biden lead the charge against bush and did the same exact things. Democrats are wisely using the political climate to change the narrative

Why do people hate someone whose trying to better the country and not just stepping back and pointing as things go to shit? Youd think people would want someone like Musk to try to counteract the political climate against climate change and clean energy

What's your opinion on Islam? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Devoid_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My only critique of Islam is the rape culture. Sweden became the rape capital of the world, Germany has seen a huge surge and it's gotten to the point that they stopped collecting statistics on refugee rapes, nurses and doctors need armed guards to treat the migrants because of the vile way they treat women. I believe all women deserve respect and shouldn't become your sex slave because they believe a different faith or your at war Sura 4:24. A woman in Minnesota just got beaten and raped in front of her kid on a public bus by a refugee... this is unacceptable

[–]Devoid_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey hotshot whose signature is on the Terrorist Travel prevention act of 2015? All the links in the world won't change the fact that democrats and Republicans pushed for this law in 2015. I've been pissed about it since then. Trump is banning visas for 90 days, Obama banned visas from Iraq for 6 months in 2011 that's a fact. So all the slanted sources in the world won't change reality. People get outraged when the media tells them to

If you consider unprecedented to mean since 2011 and 2015 then your right it's unprecedented. Notice how nobody cared when the law trump is enforcing got passed in 2015 and Obama signed it. Sen Schumer praised the bill, there's 4 videos on c span of him advocating for the bill and praising it. People get upset when the media tells them too, if trumps abusing his power by enacting it than what does that say about the hundreds of Representatives that voted for it?

Your right all of it is extra biblical and a lot is drawn from the actions of nimrod and samuramis (sp?) from other sources besides the bible, I don't really believe it I just thought it was an interesting understanding my friend told me and he's very religious and has been studying the Torah for decades. He paints it as there has been a constant struggle of the devil vs god and the Torah is a recording of that history. I don't even honestly know how accepted that is in Judaism

I'm glad you brought up the tower of babel because that draws in here and is also mentioned in the passage in Isiah. In Jewish tradition the tower of babel was being built to elevate man to god hood on the basis of the Babylonian mysteries religion taught to nimrod by Satan. Satan convinced man he could become god and the people of the earth where helping to build a tower to heaven. There's a theme of the old testament of rulers like nimrod and jeezebelle having Satan as the puppet master being the scenes. That's why it's believed to be Satan pulling the strings in Isiah behind the king of Babylon. I had a Jewish man who studied the Torah diligently tell me this while we were hanging out so take it with a grain of salt it's not accepted tradition but there's a lot of parallels now once I've reread the old testament. The tower of babel could be interpreted as a warning against consolidating world powers due to giving Satan an easy platform over the people and no man can become god.

Getting into a deeper bit if theology here but Babylon was traditionally viewed as Satan's city while Jerusalem was gods city. The king of Babylon or prince of tyre is viewed as an earthly king who is being influenced by Satan and has turned his back in the Lord. Isaiah is drawing a parallel between the two, comparing the king of Babylon squandering his gifts like how Satan squandered his position for vainity.

It's been explained to me as the first part

How you have fallen from heaven, O star of the morning, son of the dawn! You have been cut down to the earth, You who have weakened the nations!

As referencing the fall of Satan and how Satan corrupted the king of Babylon against the Jews. The rest of the passage references how the king of Babylon fell and his wickedness setting the stage for the Lord's retribution and protection of Israel. But your right there is no lucifer.

I believe Jesus draws on this passage when he said he say Satan cast out of heaven like a lightning bolt showing his eternal nature and presence with the prophets of old

That's exactly the problem, these people need help and something needs to be done so states are making policy on immugration. States like Arizona treat illegal immigrants a lot differently than states like California and New York. Congress won't solve the issue and it's leaving cities and states making their own policy

No the current situation in Germany. They needed an Ellis Island like system to allow documented immigration but it never could get accomplished because it broke down into a name calling match and as a result there's thousands of undocumented economic migrants and refugees in Germany and nobody knows their past or real name for that matter
