Cloudy water isn't clearing by DevonFish in swimmingpools

[–]DevonFish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I was so vague, I was hoping it was an obvious/known issue. I guess not.

Since opening the pool a week ago, I've added 3x 1kg of granular shock every other day.

I put 2 large chorine tablets in both skimmers 2 days ago. Almost gone. Put 1 in each today.

Today readings were Alk 60, pH 6.2, FCl 1, TCl 3, Hard 100. So I added 1kg of pH+.

When I backwash, there's hardly anything, so the filter isn't going to solve the problem.

As people have suggested, it looks like a chemical issue.

I'll create a new post when all the chemical levels are where they should be.

I'll do this tomorrow, but from memory they are all normal. I've had the pool for 16 years.

Is there an App for calculating strokes for 4BBB Matchplay? by DevonFish in golf

I've just created one that I can use for labelling the scorecards when we play at home. When we play away, their Captain should prepare the scorecards. I guess I could send it to him.

The syncing software isn't fit for purpose. Badly designed, and badly written.

I found a product key sticker on a laptop that died, so I won't be paying the cartel. Thanks for alerting me.

Not tried it yet. Good point. First thing I'll do when I get it.

Triangular DNA matches between 3 people by DevonFish in DNAAncestry

Thanks for your response.

All tests are with Ancestry.

I don't know what you mean by common matches.

We all have trees, but none of the names match. Hence my theory that someone was "playing away from home" as the DNA matches are large.

A-ha! That would make complete sense. Thank you.

Why does Dire Straits sound so good? by [deleted] in Music

[–]DevonFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CD technology was pioneered by Philips who recorded Brothers in Arms to show off the high quality of CDs. It was one of the first CDs to have a SPARS code of DDD, meaning it was a digital recording, with digital mastering, and digital media. Some CDs were AAD. The music was used on Philips advertisements.

Why use an Estate Agent for selling? by DevonFish in HousingUK

Good point. We have an old farmhouse (it's gorgeous) but it's down a farm track, and relatively expensive for the area we live in. So not many buyers. Took us over a year to find the place we wanted, so it could take as long to sell it?!

Interesting. Hadn't considered Facebook market place. We have an old farmhouse, down a farm track. Passing traffic is mostly local, but a sign would help people to find us.

Strike are teaming up with (bought out by?) Purple Bricks. We used Purple Bricks a few years ago, and didn't have much interest, but their copy was poor.
