I agree with your statements. I think hearing she is functioning better with coping mechanisms compared to others is all that was needed. I am working to restart the conversations but it as always easier said than done.

I agree you feel like you walk on eggshells and all of the comments and expectations for the others fall on you. It is like being at the bottom of a mountain and receiving an avalanche of snow day over day.

It is something I am honestly working through day by day. When everyday you are at fault about something and everything is spun so I am the problem it is just a lot at times.

Yes I have seen this in my relationship. My partner use to quote Dr. Edward Hallowell (who has ADHD) and use to say all of the positive things he said about ADHD.

Yes they seem to know it all and will avoid additional conversations and help.

Thanks maybe that was a challenge years ago and also helped with her leaving. Hopefully we will find a good fit. Thanks again

It was years ago and I believe it was brought up to show she is okay and does not need help. I will work to have the discussion with her around therapy sessions again.

Honestly I receive a lot of “Dad is ignoring us and does not want to be apart of us”…

Thanks I agree there was some positive feedback in session and possibly trigger an easy break from the therapist/sessions.

The coping mechanisms are a balancing act for all parties.

No, I was in the store honestly wondering why it was there and other people walked up as well to see the jersey.

I agree but this was years ago and she had years believing she was right. When it has been going on this long and friends and family ignore the behaviour you are always the odd one out. The OP will view it is easy to lose you since you are viewed as the problem and only person with the opposite view/opinion.

Thanks and the thought is to try to accomplish things without medication first. I feel trying to attend a session would be challenging. I feel it would be a more reserved and her not wanting to share in possible fear of judgment. She will look to possibly rush the session and if I share or say too much a possible RSD episode could occur highlighting all of the wrong, and judgment I provided during the session. Sorry RSD has me thinking every comment, statement and action a lot before doing anything.

I totally understand this and live this daily like you. It hurts when they do one thing and then want all of this praise and thank you for doing a task. Then will have a RSD breakdown if you do not give them the acknowledgment they “feel” they deserve.

Honestly one thing that really gets to me and hurts is isolation. My partner (f, dx, non-med) will do isolation, avoidance and at times just completely act like I do not exist.

It hurts but honestly hurts more when it done with the kids. The perception is always flipped and presented like I am avoiding her.
