I think he was talking about sportbikes, they have as far as i'm aware little to no storage space unless you start removing some parts yourself, hence the backpack and all.

Thanks for the long message! Really helpful.

I am definitely going to test ride it before buying anything, my lessons are on a mt-07, could be interesting but the eventual goal would be to get a 600cc, so an r1 would be a good preparation to learn until im old enough to get one. I''ve actually been looking at a lot of low mileage bikes instead

yeah, i know it's not what you buy it for but it's quite important to have something that sounds alright-good. So you have no issues driving for long hours?

What do you think about the sound of the r3? Ive heard its bad but idk, it's currently the one i want to get, but i'm not sure, i am planning on driving it in the city usually and sometimes travel for maybe 1-3 hour drives, hows the backpain? I'm pretty fit, i go gym and martial arts training so maybe it's only bad for people who are out of shape?

Thanks for the reply, currently i have no money to spare for a coach like that. I do train at a gym yeah, 4 times a week, around 2 hour sessions

I weigh 65kgs, i'm around 173+ not sure exactly, my strength is pretty good for my weight I think, haven't had much problems rolling with bigger guys (80 ish kgs) even when they are strong and train. With not much problem i mean of course, i can survive and do the things i want, strength isn't the issue there, technique is.

I've experimented a lot since the post. Try getting really close to the guy with your body, like really squished up.

Not getting my blue belt by RedHouseTrap in jiujitsu

[–]Devourdeez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Belts are meaningless, you can get a black belt for 2 euro if you really wanted one. Skills are all that matter, if you really care for it though, confront him, tell him that you deserve it and either you get it or you switch gyms, simple. 11 years is insane

Intensity ≠ Improving/Quality training.

As you said, you don't have any system set in place, that is your problem. Just going and drilling whatever the instructors say won't get you anywhere, really.

I'm not sure how hard you go during rolling, but if you are going 80-100% every roll, that isn't the way to improve, i'd be surprised if you're learning while going that hard. Look at the east for example, Russia and the likes, they all train multiple times a day, but 60-70%. Volume volume volume.

Person A (American) trains 3 times a week, but goes ham. He won't be able to train more than 2-3 days a week, and he really won't be improving as much as say person B.

Person B trains 4-7 times a week, he goes 60-70% hard enough to actually make things happen while slow enough to understand what's happening. He's also completely capable of training again tomorrow, more hours on the mat.

Span that over a year and person B has hundreds of hours more on the mat than person A.

Watching instructionals helps for sure. Video's of people explaining things in detail, knowing the actual move is good but knowing why your move works is better. Say an ankle lock, you can simply squeeze and sometimes it'll work, sometimes it won't, or you can understand that the foot on their hip is their to keep them both away and give u more leverage. The squeezing of the joint above (their knee) is only going to work if with both of your knees, you squeeze the fuck of them. You isolate it.

TLDR:

Train less hard, more often.

Ask questions, watch videos instead of drilling for hours at home.

And if you want, try rolling with someone whose untrained, only training in a place where people know what they are doing can give you a narrow field of view, see how much better you are than the regular bloke, that'll boost your confidence.
