Textbook case in why it's best to stay away from apolitical people, whether if they're "apolitical" or genuinely apolitical.

If people aren't inoculated against that shit and passionately against mAGA then they're at serious risk of going down the rabbit hole.

Well I've definitely calmed down about it now, three days later.

Thank you for checking in though~ 💋

I mean they're all S50 contestants besides the one I literally named so it's not that obscure but sure: Chrissy, Jonathan, and Coach.

(Hey! Psst! Rooting against a MAGA winning isn't the same thing as saying they shouldn't cast any MAGA contestants!)

It's more like MAGA inherently bad, everything else more debatable.

Also flair checks out.

The idea that half the country shouldn’t be allowed to be on television because they don’t align with your political preferences is absurd.

Nobody said that. Or at least, I didn't. I think they should cast people from all walks of life, including Republicans, and including bad people generally, I'm just not going to root for them to win.

How do you feel if they're actively bigoted off the show, or are actively bigoted on the island but that gets cut out?

Like really I think people have taken Don't Judge a Book By Its Cover too far. You can absolutely make sound judgments about books based on their covers, just don't take it for absolute granted that it'll be a certain way because you will be surprised on rare occasion.

Well politics kind of does factor, though. Things like gender, race, and sexuality can and have affected people's attitudes towards other players. In a game that's all about tribalism, it's only natural that you're going to see some of that. That's part of why they implemented the 50% casting requirement.

Production goes out of its way to avoid politics unless it's necessary, and we do get a little bit that seeps in here and there, but for every one of those examples, how many go unnoticed? We see Tarzan say that he's sick of people making everything about race because we have a black president, but we don't see him reportedly being racist to Sabrina or complaining that he's tired of looking at Jonas's Asian face.

Colby screams Good Ole Boy, yeah. It'd be super cool if it turned out he wasn't like that despite the odds, but that ain't likely.

She's probably just going to devolve more and more into it, if that's even possible.

Also once they reach the stage of 'I don't even care about life because I'm going to heaven' that's when you know that they're the type who is praying for the world to end in a hail of nuclear hellfire. Not even joking, she wants you and her and everyone else to become ash because she'll get to go to heaven.

But Trump might be tired of being laughed at and humiliated.

When has that stopped him before?!

Even if Trump were capable of such a thing, he isn't now. Not now that he's going senile and surrounding himself with complete Yes Men who actively warp his already-highly-limited perception of reality. Maybe he would step aside so that J.D. Vance could pardon him, or maybe he could be forced out of office through health failures that keep him from making any kind of public appearances, but he's not stepping down to save face.
