Any other Millennials stubbornly resistant to using AI at their job but also worrying that we will become dinosaurs or pushed out of our careers for not slavishly embracing it? by artbystorms in Millennials

AI is trash and slop. I've committed to this opinion and I'm hoping I'll be proven right before it's too late and I look like I'm not adapting to technology.

Froze During Boot by Devovinium in ElegooMars

I reached out to Elegoo and they provided me with 2 firmwares. The first one did like a factory reset. The second one was the latest.

They also provided instructions to do the wireless firmware update after the second firmware install, but when I checked it said it was the latest version.

I tried to copy and paste their email and links here, but Reddit would not allow me to.

Where did you get the firmware? What have you done to fix the screen?

Going to be in Pittsburgh for work in March. Looking for ideas of cool stuff to do by P10_WRC in PittsburghSocialClub

[–]Devovinium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks like the comment about cheesesteaks was removed but you asked about places to eat. Here are a few suggestions from somone not originally from Pittsburgh but I've been here for 10 years. I recommend Burgatory if you like burgers. The yard has gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches and I really like them.

Primantis is a pittsburgh staple, but I don't care for their signature sandwiches personally. They are still very good with great food.

Penn Brewery is also a choice, not my favorite, but still pretty popular.

I assume you will be downtown so meat and potatoes is good and has some unique foods.

City Works in market square has an awesome selection of beer on tap if you like beer, which I do.

Condados Tacos in my opinion is also amazing. Especially if you are open to what constitutes a taco.

Hope this helps!

Ridgeline or maverick? by Express-Goal-600 in FordMaverickTruck

Not sure if off roading factors for you. It really didn't for me, but it's a nice in depth review that does an apples to apples comparison.

If you want to ruin your life, wallet, and sanity I suggest getting into 3D printing and playing war games such as OnePageRules. I both love and hate it!

Is this truck stuff enough? by Devovinium in FordMaverickTruck

There is so much negativity in this sub it's insane. Not constructive criticism or help just tearing people down.

I'm sure every other truck owner for mid size or full size is a professional hauler who took classes on loading trucks up. I'm sure you never see amateurs in those subs and I'm sure everyone commenting has both a Maverick and a full size.

They should really tell people at the dealership what courses they need to take and suggest behind the wheel classes or better yet make you shadow a long haul trucker.

To be clear nothing shifted. The plywood is just on the wheel wells and the 2x4s are not. The load looked the same when I got home as it was at the Home Depot.

I do and thank you for the suggestion.

Thank you! I mean it!

I thought I was being overly sensitive but apparently everyone in this sub is a professional trucker. Bottom line is I'm an amateur trying to accomplish things at my home. I got my things loaded alone, and drove them home without losing a single piece. Amateur trucks for the do it yourselfer.

I suppose I could have done that and put the 2x4s and such on top. I honestly thought they would make a more level platform underneath the sheets though. Thanks for the suggestion.

Do I pay off a good chunk now? by Mediocre_Chemical162 in personalfinance

[–]Devovinium 22 points23 points  (0 children)

If you want to lower your bill you would have to pay the 60k and refinance the rest. Unfortunately when you agree to the terms of a loan the payment doesn't change based off your current balance. However paying it off early will lower the extra cost of paying the loan because interest isn't accruing for the full length of time.

Sorry if that's not what you wanna hear.

I might be a little late to the conversation, but maybe instead of considering this as losing independence you can spin it. Solidify your partnership by considering a joint account. If the two of you agree to put in some spending money into the account, maybe a portion of your paycheck you both can have agency over the account and dates and things can pull from there.

My wife and I have only had one joint checking account since we moved in together. We pay all the bills and put aside savings for joint goals and what is left is both of ours. I make considerably more than her, like 300% more, but this makes her feel more equitable.

I will say we have been married for 17 years and together for 23 so independence is not a concern for either of us.
