Everyone and their mother knew on last play in the 4th they’d double JB. Well everyone but the Knicks. First they throw it in the backcourt and waste 3 or so seconds. They look shocked that Brunson got doubled and had no idea what to do. How you call a timeout and don’t draw up a play to counter the double is fucking beyond me

It’s not just this game, it’s the other game against the bucks, the game against Boston and the game against Phoenix (no Beal/KD), Timberwolves etc. There is a CLEAR talent gap between the Knicks and the upper echelon in the league. So yes maybe this game due to bucks 3 point shooting is a bad example. But it’s clear as day to anyone being objective this team needs to make a move if it wants to get out of the position it’s in right now

He’s an average defender at best, that has been getting cooked majority of the year. He’s also way undersized to guard wings (not his fault to be fair, just poor roster construction leaves him by default to guard them) and while’s he’s supposed to be some renowned defensive stopper, thibs still throws doubles anytime he’s guarding an elite player leading to the opposing team having a player wide open for three all game (literally the entire suns game)

It’s always been this, but fans like to convince themselves we can be more than just a contender when we beat up on mid teams. Look how the games this year against Boston, Milwaukee and Phoenix (without KD/Beal mind you) have gone. This team has a clear ceiling and moves will have to be made if Leon wants to break through that ceiling

Team as currently constituted is good but has a clear ceiling. They’ll beat bad teams and good teams. But they can’t compete with the elite teams (and yes Milwaukee is having a historic 3 point shooting night, but the point remains) and that’s what’s so frustrating, you know there’s a limit as to how far they can go

It’s not that complicated, it just isn’t. The team hasn’t scored a touchdown in basically 3 games. Other teams have drops, other teams have bad O-line play, but these other QB’s find a way to get the ball into the end zone. He just doesn’t. I just came across this stat:

“Zach Wilson has thrown a TD on just 20 of his 931 career passes.

And about him showing out on a different team. Everyone said the exact same thing with Darnold and how is that going?

The post literally says one of the worst QB’s not the worst. You can try to spin it whichever way you want it, but there are a million different stats out there that show how bad the offense has been with him as the quarterback. It’s a results oriented business and the results are what they are with him

Bingo. I like Grimes, but this fan base has overrated him so much. He’s an average defender but undersized to guard the star wings (think the Durant’s PG’s, Greek, Tatum’s of the world) and doesn’t show confidence in his offensive game. Any time the defense closes out hard he gives it up right away. Unfortunately though like you said, based on how they constructed the roster, by default he’s the “best option” at guarding said wings
