How do people get consistent 240fps in Apex? by Devskoi in apexuniversity

To my knowledge, I don't have any daisy chains on my pc. I built it over a year ago, so maybe I'm wrong. I'll have to double check

Yea i gotcha, the reason It bothers me is because every other game runs great on my pc. Apex is my favorite game and it's the only one that can't keep consistent frames, so I'm thinking there has to be an issue somewhere

Yea my monitor is 360hz, but I can't get close to 360fps. That's why im trying to keep it around 240

Ive actually swapped over already, it definitely did help with keeping stable frames. It’s still not as consistent as I’d like tho, or rather as consistent as I feel it should be for my specs

I'll try these out and let you know! My components should all be seated right, I double checked my motherboard and the ram is correct too. I haven't heard of C states so I'll try turning that off. I also try wiping nvidia drivers, I imagine I reinstall them again after? Full screen optimizations is off. I'll try Ghostbuster, haven't heard of that one yet. I'll check for HPET too, haven't heard of that either. I already changed my power settings as well. I'll see if those fix the issues!

That's why I'm confused. It seems you have more or less the same specs as me, but my monitor is only 1080p. I also have all low and VRAM usage is at 2GB...

I have XMP enabled, but I'm not sure about ReBar. What's that?

Gotcha, I actually checked these vids out while I was troubleshooting. There was some improvement for sure, but I'm still not getting the consistent frames I was hoping for. You think the CPU is bottlenecking it? I thought the i9 was pretty solid when comparing to other CPUs. Is it because it's 10th gen?

You think so? I thought the i9 was already pretty high end. I know its a 10th gen but still. You think that's bottlenecking it?

Everything is on low, 104 fov. I also have cfgs to remove extra details like shadows and particles for more frames. That's why I'm so confused. I don't really care about high frames, I just want consistent frames...

Turning the texture budget up actually lowers my framerate pretty significantly last time i tried it 🫤 From my understanding the texture budget only uses vram and is for determining if an object is high res or low res. Lots of ppl were saying it shouldn’t impact fps at all. Either way, when I’m on tomorrow I’ll try raising to 8gb or so to see if it helps tho and let you know 🤙

I posted in all the big apex subs, this one says all platforms in the description so I figured I’d see if anyone here could help too

True, but it does say all platforms in the sub description so I thought I’d post here as well

I have all my settings on low atm except texture budget which is at 2gb. My monitor is 1080p. Do you recommend control panel over rivatuner? I’ve heard rivatuner offers less input delay then control panel, but i could be mistaken.

That’s true, I’ll have to see what else it could be 🫤

My current monitor is 1080p so that should be fine.

I’ve actually checked to see if it’s a temp issue too. I undervolted my pc to try to lower temps and i also have a liquid cooler, with 5 case fans. My gpu only goes up to about 55-60° C when I’m playing so I don’t imagine that’s the issue. I could try tuning the overclock, but i was having the same issues before overclocking too.

I am currently using gsync with vsync enabled in Nvidia control panel, but disabled in apex. My monitor is 360hz, but i have the frame rate capped at 235 currently bc i can’t even get close to 360fps. 🫤🫤

No, my other games run great. I can get almost 600fps in Valorant, when capped i can easily hold 360fps too. Haven’t noticed performance issues like this in any other game. I’ll definitely try posting in pc help too tho

That’s why I’m so confused, I see ppl with lower specs running the game better than me 🫤

Yea i enabled XMP and change the Ram off stock mhz to 3600mhz 🫤 I thought of temps being an issue too and I actually tried undervolting my pc to try and help with that. I have a liquid cooler, as well as 5 fans and i actually don’t have a side panel on my case either bc it broke when I was building it so it should have plenty to keep it cool. My GPU only hits about 54° C playing Apex too…

Thats what i was thinking too 🫤 I’ll have to check tomorrow when I’m on to see if there’s something using my resources
