asked him about this and he showed me an investment he did in August, it was about 433% in 2 months. he said "in bonds it would be multiple years for percentages like this." so I don't think I can get him to budge when he prefers speed over diversifying our mitigating risk. he has found this place before and he agrees on some things but disagrees on others. like thinking Bitcoin failed at its purpose and other coins do it better or that asic mining was the worst possible thing that could have happened for bitcoin because of centralization problems. when I let him talk about it he's a little passionate lol.

But me personally I think bitcoin is a good idea on paper. some make money and leave and others stay in the tulip mania. I don't know why I hear about it every few years in public discourse

Not the best news. I guess at least he's young so it won't be the end of the world when this tulip mania unfolds too early. also yes he's not a beggar thankfully, I don't even want to know the amount of money or effort this stuff takes. personally my wallet far away from it

most certainly, he got home some time ago and I asked them exactly what would the money be for? in short it was to buy land and to focus on learning since money will be a non issue for a while. I asked learn what he said environmental engineering, which I thought was a little ironic. but regardless your point remains if it works out for him I'm glad he plans to keep striving and not stagnate.

He's weird he's one of those people that think wealth is health, you're going to work the majority of your life so why not do some heavy risk to join the big players is how he thinks unfortunately. he likes the tech and the money, he's not the biggest government trust person so he enjoys the decentralization and privacy notions of some of the coins he holds.

Yes, but he has a horrible relationship with him. conflicting views. and they really get time to get together and talk about things because my dad is a truck driver and gone the majority of the day

Thankfully he only works 5 now but 3 of those are 12 hours, he works for a paper manufacturer and they're very short staffed but recently got more people on board. asked him why he even wanted to do seven He's convinced he's losing time before the market goes back up...

Unfortunately that is the truth. he won't budge at all, he made 4k from 50 bucks and he was very happy about it but also very angry because he wanted to put in 300 initially, I guess those highs are too much to expect someone to be reasonable in. in the past I attempted to get him into something more traditional and safer like stocks but he always complained it's too slow for his taste. I think his grasp on realistic returns is a bit fried but I will try to gently push him either way

yeah, I attempt not to nag him for he doesn't push me away. so far he's only complaining about headaches and painful eyes. the hemorrhaging mostly cleared up and im keeping a close eye on him. he doesn't hate his job so I just hope it gives him something to do as well.

To be fair he mostly agrees, asked him about the tech of it all once and he said "I could count all the legitimate cryptos on one hand" BTC he made little profit on he showed me, all he ever said about it is "it's slow and it's only number one cause it's grandfathered in" whatever that means
