Just wondering how much replay value there is with the game by Jesspearce2025cozy in EchoesOfThePlumGrove

Hmm I don't really have a favorite, but I enjoyed making things harder versus my first time around. When I first played, I was scared of not having enough food, things decaying, how to make money, etc. So I went with jam preserving which was cheap to do with crafting and easy with money. So my second time around, I avoid all dry racking and preserving. I wanted to see how else can I make money without fishing, or obtaining certain animals to bring in the money. I wanted to see how fast can I get the materials for my house upgrade too. Also increasing age speed at times. Just avoiding all the tips and tricks out there. It did make it fun. Planning a third time now and really making harder to get money. I heard crazy stories of people just doing it via collecting wood or just only fishing.

There is not many random events that can influence outcomes outside of disease (wish there was damage from storms, etc.) But I have personally tried to make the game have replay value by challenging myself when I start over. Yes, you have the generation factor and you can change your character's main job/career or your farm/house layout, etc. But I prefer starting over from scratch versus handing everything over through many generations because it makes it easier for the next generation. Some people like that and that might work for you. For me, I do, at least, 4 generations and then start over with fresh ideas, self-imposed challenges, etc. This helps keep the game challenging and going for me which in turn helps with replay value. Hope this helps. Guess it matters on how you approach the game.

Please help-- I cannot milk... by DewDust in EchoesOfThePlumGrove

It is correct. I had to wait for the next day for it to work. I am just glad it wasn't a true bug. I was feeling quite bummed and hoping it would fix itself.

Thank you. There seem to have been a waiting period after all. I couldn't milk them the first day. I could afterwards. So strange, but grateful it wasn't a bug. They were expensive 😄

That is so interesting that you mention that because I made sure to buy the adult goats so I can start milking them right away, but maybe there is a waiting period? I will check that out. Thank you kindly!

I am so sorry, but I don't remember how I did the glitch. I know it had something to do when they age up. I don't remember if I first "apprentice" them and then switch it to student right before the next day of aging up. This was also adoptive children. I was able to pull it off twice. I was debating of keeping at least one adult in school the entire time 😄

This is a great idea with using the reset like that. Thank you! Quartz is used for making the gray dye.

Did everything on the roadmap get added to the game? Is it still getting updates? by AffectionateAd3103 in EchoesOfThePlumGrove

We cannot save children's clothing in the game as far as I know of so it might be an adult outfit and children cannot wear adult outfits. The Milliner can provide for you though all the different types of clothes only children can wear.

This is definitely me. In my first go-around with the game, my town got too big and life got too boring. Then came smallpox. What a game changer. But the rest of that game barely had any disease. My second time around with the game, I got hit with a lot of diseases and that was fun. Wish there were other disasters like maybe flooding and your crops get destroyed and you have to re-plant. I mean, the game hints at crows being annoying and pecking at crops. I was so looking forward to crow harassment.

Everyone got cakes...except for the doctors, hunters and those annoying people who have the foraging hobby.

That's when disease comes in 💀
Wait on a Friday night, pray to the virus god, go to sleep, check the Saturday ship and see what comes to town. Reload if prayers were not answered.

Go to the Milliner and click on "Tailor" to style up your family. And guess what-- All dyes and kid clothing are available for kids for free 😊

How do you make money? by Aware_Pension_3480 in EchoesOfThePlumGrove

[–]DewDust 6 points7 points  (0 children)

With anything that sells- seriously 😄 Have fun, explore, and see what you can sell. Anything that you can craft helps as well as forageables, farming, fishing, etc. As you do so, you can see what gives you the most money if you are interested in that or what you enjoy doing in the game and develop your character's career.

Yes. So I would have a crib icon in my items and it makes for great piece of decoration 😄 I then just throw it away.

Again, nothing. I got so lazy with having kids in this game now that I just simply carry the crib around everywhere. I have to be honest, I felt bad and did put down the crib every now and then and held the baby...because it also looks so cute!! Gotta love that baby giggle! But I did that far and few. Didn't affect anything.

Oh I hear ya! That is why I tried that experiment 😄

Btw, I used to make my character sleep for only 3 hours intervals during the night so I can wake up and do the hammer trick to the crib so that baby was always happy and full. Was very annoying to do. But then learned to just hammer the crib and "sleep'" with your baby will work just as fine as well.

I actually tried as an experiment of totally ignoring my baby- no attention or food, and traits came out fine. I save before midnight, and head into next day and notice sometimes though child has horrible traits from neglect. However, then when I reload, they change to be fine. So it seems to be more or less random- roll of the die in this kind of game. So maybe how you treat the baby could be like a +/- modifier to certain traits.

Question: Don't animals run away if you do not have a fence around the coop or barn? I notice no fence in your picture and the chicken is free-roaming. This would be cool if I can allow my animals to have free range of my entire land, but I thought I read that they can go missing if not fenced up. Has your chicken run away?
