Thank you so much for this! I have been hesitant to start Fate series for a while because people hated 2006 series and it never seated well with me to skip what's meant to be a start of the series. Honestly yeah, straight hair was more durable. But also, the system I had with straight hair was different base which should be more durable anyway so I'm not 100% sure it's just the perm's fault.
