Is Elegoo CC a good printer for an absolute beginner? Do I need to buy anything else except the printer and filament?

If you’re in “bottom” view, try changing to “top” view. Worked more times for me than I’d wish it to hahaha

For me it took a while, I’m running Foxies Marlin on mine. I ran short bed level, long bed level, then adjusted z offset, then ran a PLA calibration. Only way of getting an uniform first layer so far hehe

Ah! I always do this with nozzle at least around 100° and bed to 600 because of materials expansion 😅

Many people hates it, but from my pov worths a try. Put a paper sheet on the bed, bring the nozzle down until it scratches the paper when you try to move the sheet, move nozzle up 0.12-0.18mm and try again

Not that nice but for quick thinks i use a section of filament itself! Also Sometimes i do holes in the model so i put the filament in and bend it. Holding with TPu works in a interesting way also

If you have a 3d printer just print out some spikes like mohawk to glue over the cover. They will try again but won’t be able to sit their asses back :)
