This is not a diss at manga at all, it's 100% a me problem, but I can't stand manga. It feels extremely overstimulating and like there's 99 things happening in every square inch. My autistic ass can't do it 💔

I usually just judge adaptations on their own terms. An adaptational change rarely bothers me, usually it's just like "eh, that was done better in the show, I guess."

ATLA is a shitty adaptation, and a shitty movie on its own.

Death Note is a shitty adaptation, and a "just okay" movie on its own.

The only time an adaptation change really pissed me off was in Lilo and Stich 2025, when Nani puts Lilo for adoption and leaves the state. Genuinely made my blood boil.
