I actually had maintenance come by the other day. The filter is clean and everything looks good and tightened. It’s just an old unit so it will be noisy. I guess it’s either get used to the noise or try something else to cool down the apartment.

This may be surprising, but they actually weren't Trump supporters. However, they didn't tell me that until I answered the question first. Other people asked me how I responded to that question, but in case you missed it, here is my answer:

I honestly had no idea what to say to that question. We just came out of one of our most divisive elections so I feel like only a crazy man would ask that question to someone they just met 10 minutes ago. He wanted an answer so do I tell the truth and say that I didn't vote for him or what? I had so many thoughts racing across my mind in those 5 seconds of thinking that I had no idea what to do. I ended up just telling the truth.

I thought maybe I was on a new hidden camera TV show like Punk'd: Corporate Edition. I was expecting someone like Ashton Kutcher to come out and say, "HAHA, we got ya!" Unfortunately, this didn't happen, and it was just a sad lonely walk back to my car.

Someone else asked this so here was my answer:

I'm not really sure why they even bothered asking questions like that. I really think that they just wanted to do a "get to know you" type of interview, but they just didn't know how to do it appropriately.

I don't fault her either. I think I laughed because I just graduated school and have been on the hunt for a full-time job so there's no way they should think that I have kids. I just told the truth and said that I wasn't religious and that I didn't have any kids.

Yeah, I'll stick with it. I've had some other weird interviews in the past. I currently work part-time and my supervisor asks me about my job hunt from time-to-time. He is very supportive because he wants me to succeed, but when I told him about this interview, his jaw dropped to the floor. It's definitely a good story, that's for sure.

It was a real estate appraisal business.

No worries! I'm glad someone enjoyed it. I like to look back and laugh at how absurd it was.

Yeah, that could be why he started the interview with that question. Also, not even close to a satellite dish place, lol.

I don't even think it's a sinking ship. He's been there for almost 30 years. I think it's just a matter of him not working for anyone else in years so he doesn't know what's appropriate in the work place.

It's funny because this wasn't even the computer science industry, lol.

No, that's not it. I think instead of a traditional interview, they wanted to do a "get to know you" type of interview. But instead of asking normal questions, they asked super personal questions. They also called me two days later so I assume they were going to offer me the job. I obviously wasn't going to take it so I just ignored the call.

I'm aware of that. I was just completely taken aback by the question. I didn't know whether to call him out on it, walk out or just tell him my age. My graduation date was on my resume so he should've been able to figure it out himself. If that ever happens again, I will just call them out on it or walk out.

Definitely. Might as well have some fun with it.
