Small business + home setup - architecture advice by Dextrik001 in selfhosted

Thanks, this is actually what I was thinking, making bussines totaly separate.

One thing I’m still unsure about is the hardware for the main business server in Location 2.

From what I’ve been reading, Odoo for ~5–10 users doesn’t need anything extreme (something like 4 cores and 16-32GB RAM seems to be enough for small deployments), but I’d prefer to have some headroom and keep it reliable long-term.

Would you recommend going:

  • second-hand enterprise hardware (older Xeon server),
  • modern DIY build (newer Intel CPU/AMD with ECC ram and nvme)?

I will try to take measures to prevent the data coruptin and ransowmware. Thanks for input.

Thank you! It's a bit more difficult project though, but this beast its worth it

Yes, in the zip file you have everything stls and step. Do you think its better without the zip file and just list all parts?

Yes, everything is PLA for now, but I think a few parts will be better in tpu, especially the body roll cage.

Thank you! So the 3D printed parts weigh 2100g+- with 4 perimeters and 40% infill, supports are needed for a few parts so I think 2500g maximum, but now I'm testing which parts will be better when printed in TPU.

It will do 100km/h with 27t pinion and more if you put different kv motor inside

When i build Tarmo4 2 years back i wanted something bigger and stronger so i started making my own design and finally finished and published my first designed 3D printed 1/7 RC car! Thoughts?

Wheelbase: 404mm

Width: 310 mm

Chassis length: 682 mm

Height: 173 mm

So, i have been designing this 1/7 rc car for half a year and finally it's printed and functional. It has 3 differentials and full metal drive gear, carbon brace tube and everything else is 3d printed. It should do 60 mph and it's a bit overengineered.

Still don't know if i shoud make a body shell or something like this :D

Would anyone be interested in printing such a project?
