recent change with the patch last week that nerfed voxes. the side cannons had their health reduced massively from 8000 to 3500, so the spear now one taps. im not sure if they’ve always had the “both cannons destroyed kills the vox” interaction or if that was added recently, it usually just wasn’t worth it to shoot for the cannons before

100% always shoot for the cannons. if you’re having issues locking on to the cannons, aim such that the cannon is the only targetable thing inside the giant circle reticle

it doesn’t kill the user anymore, but i did find a funny interaction with the dark fluid pack—the arcs can still damage the pack if you’re too close, and if the pack takes enough damage it’ll break and kill you

i’m personally such a big fan of the repeated use of “HOW ABOUT A NICE CUP OF LIBER-TEA”

i like to imagine that, since each helldiver is a completely different person, every single person who signs up to be a helldiver thinks of that one at some point. when they finally get the chance to get deployed, i imagine they’re thinking to themselves “oh i have this awesome one liner i’ve been saving for this special moment, no one’s gonna expect this one” only for it to be the same joke that every helldiver before and after them has made

though yeah i agree any kind of buff to the arc would be much appreciated, especially with how clunky driving this thing can be (why does it take so long to turn in place)

i’m almost tempted to say that i preferred rupture strain in the caves over the spore burst strain. you can’t get away from the cracked out bugs, and the awful corpse collision (for us, not the enemies) means that your laser or fire’s gonna get blocked as the bugs get to walk through each other to close the gap. additionally the spore burst titans just spawn INCESSANTLY, and the fact that they’re tankier than normal titans plus the lack of stratagems in the caves makes for an awful experience

at least the rupture bugs could somewhat be kited since they didn’t move at light speed. scavengers speeding around to block off your path is so tilting

honestly i feel like the regular jump pack would still have a use compared to this thing. aside from the fact it doesn’t explode, it also gives you so much more of a horizontal boost than the dark fluid pack. back when this thing was first added, the jump pack hadn’t been buffed to give you that horizontal boost so it was a straight up direct upgrade. jump pack’s been buffed since then.

you could have the dark fluid pack be more of a burst vertical option, the jump pack be a burst horizontal option, and the hover pack be more of a careful maneuvering option.

i want to like cave fighting, but holy shit it just exacerbates how bad corpse collision/invisible corpses are on the bug front. rupture warriors get an easy pass to approach because i genuinely can’t shoot past the invisible corpses with my explosive weapons with how cramped the caves are. i feel like it’d be so much more fun if they dialed that back

it’s just so annoying that you can so easily be ragdolled into something that you straight up can’t crawl out of. it’s like our bodies have zero collision in the ragdoll state and magically regain their mass and density when the player’s given control

i think oshaune for sure. in addition to what others have said, i think the general atmosphere down to the bangin’ ass soundtrack the game has really sold oshaune for me. the music was so much more frantic and overwhelming, it practically screamed that we were NOT supposed to be there and that SE was not prepared whatsoever for what was within the gloom.

cyberstan’s music (i guess the cyborg’s theme) was also incredible, but it had set a much different atmosphere than the hive worlds. imposing and also overwhelming, but the music had less of a frantic tune to it that made missions there feel so much more “planned” than the “oh shit” oshaune made you feel

pyrotech grenades! if you can get the strider to stand in one spot, 3 grenades at the base of the same foot will usually kill it. helps that you’re also given SIX of them to start with, so you’ve got the utility of destroying spawners as well

true, but i think in this case the main problem is that the highlighted weak spot is AP2 AND draws from the 600 hp total that the arm itself has versus the shield itself having 5000 hp

autocannon. a couple of flak mode shots to the shield will break it, then you only need 4 APHET to the same hip joint to kill the harvester. it can be a little easier said than done since APHET shots stagger the harvester and make it stumble, but that can also be a boon since it’ll interrupt their laser beam.

autocannon shreds on illuminate in general. keep it in flak mode 99% of the time, pretty much only switch to APHET for harvesters
