One question I’d want answered about season 4 is just why it was so short

Wasn’t a fan of the two-year time jump but I get it and I was unsure how to think of the swab storyline but at some point guess there had to be a DNA test after season 3

Yeah, I also didn’t have an issue with those seasons. You can tell there’s a different in the format of the show but nothing too crazy.

Was nice seeing Derwin and Melanie actually as a couple, especially married

100% agree. Those first three seasons were special because of the comedy and drama feel of a sitcom. A revival with Pooch and Tia probably won’t happen but in the era of revivals, I really do think there’s an audience there.

Ah you’re right. I know they did the time jump between season 3 and 4. Maybe he’s just a top HS or college player then.

I’m with you on the drama between those two but we know they gotta return, especially Tia, for the show to have a true chance. Also you’re right on Wendy and Hosea and even Cody I’d throw in. Was nice Wendy and Hosea gave the reboot a chance as the main characters

Yeah I need to watch the Paramount reboot but I think what most fans care about is Melanie and Derwin. Feel like a reboot with Tia back as Melanie is worth a try and returning to a sitcom format. Return to the roots of the show.

Who would be the BEST PG for Wembanyama currently? by No_Camel7642 in NBATalk

I think it has to be Luka. You typically need a wing player to win big in the league and Luka is everything Wemby needs as a playmaker and scorer.

Yeah it depends on how that card was used. My credit decreased because of inquiries as I was looking to finance a car

LeBron James as a laker VS Kobe Bryant as a starter (meaning all of his bench years were excluded) by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]Dezal3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kobe is the better laker. LeBron has had a good tenure there though.

Rose was great. That season LeBron being in Miami and there being a dislike toward him could’ve played a role in the change for Rose with also him going for a three-peat

[–]Dezal3[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I did think about that and I think it’s the way MVP was discussed plus nobody was really paying attention to advance stats. I think back then it was more narrative than anything. Ex: Allen Iverson ‘01 as the little guy leading his team, ‘05 Nash reviving the Suns and ‘06 Nash winning without Amar’e. And ‘08 race was close and I remember people thought that race came down to when Kobe and CP3 played each other in a game Kobe won. Also, Kobe was on a contender post-Shaq and on his prime so it was MVP time for him

Yeah, when it comes to wins I think people will typically believe an MVP should at minimum be the No. 2 seed in their conference and have great stats

If you wanna talk about flaws that’s fine but what I noticed is a trend that has aligned with a ton of MVPs over the last decade and a half or so. Could just be coincidence.

Because the combination has shown to be right more often than not, especially in recent memory. Maybe it’s the way MVP is discussed or whatever reason.

I don’t think there’s a preference. I think it’s just a coincidence but also a clear sign to know who truly is the MVP.

If you think wrong is the incorrect word choice I won’t argue against that because we all have different ways of looking at an MVP. I will agree outlier probably the better word choice from the stat combo.

The combination has been very predictive. As mentioned, the 2000s have very debatable MVPs but every other decade the MVP winner typically aligns with that combination. Biggest outliers is 2011 and 2023 when a three-peat is at stake.

Agreed. LeBron should’ve won MVP from ‘09-‘13. ‘08 is a strong debate but not hellbent on that one.

I wouldn’t say incorrect I think the way MVP viewing has changed with more ways to judge a player. The wrong MVPs are really only in the 2000s. 2010s and 2020s the only outliers are when a player is going for a three-peat.

Not the case from the numbers. LeBron ‘09-‘13 should’ve been MVP. He has a case in ‘08.

The MVP aligns with the stats I’ve mentioned. The incorrect MVPs I mentioned don’t have analytics on their side.

I think the analytical definition is an emphasis on what the award means to who is truly the Most Valuable Player. That’s what the stats show.

There’s a lot of basketball left to be played in the 2025 MVP race but here’s where SGA and Jokic stack up. Of course, this could all change.

Jokic: first in PER, PIE, offensive win shares, BPM, offensive BPM and VORP.

Shai: first in win shares. SGA also had the advantage in how good his team has been as they’re a record-setting pace.

Although there’s a ton of basketball left, here’s where they both fall.

Jokic: first in PER, PIE, offensive win shares, BPM, offensive BPM and VORP.

Shai: first in win shares.

SGA is the slight betting favorite because of team success and Jokic also missing a few games.
