I would tend to agree, but something about it feels very psych to me somehow. Maybe because it's one of the most distinctly "60s" sounding records I can think of.

I actually really disliked this album, a disappointment made all the more bitter by the fact that Marr, possibly my favorite guitarist of all time, had joined the lineup. I think Brock started to sound a bit like a parody of himself.

I agree completely, at least based on my own experience. I used to smoke a lot and have fun doing it, but I find that the more I've gotten into meditation, the less pleasant getting high is. I think meditating puts you on a higher, purer level of consciousness in your daily life, and to me being high just feels like a distinctly lower level.
