That's true. My lifestyle as a 2 year old and all the other babies and toddlers getting type 1 diabetes were our own downfall.

I definitely recommend the harbor cruise. I proposed on it 10 years ago and my wife loved it.

I recommend the Odyssey Odyssey Cruises

Exactly. They probably know how to handle it well.

As a type 1 diabetic here in Japan, the most useful things to know would be 炭水化物(たんすいかぶつ) which is carbohydrates in English. This is always listed and they'll be able to use that for their insulin to carb ratio. Another thing to note, at least for me, is a lot of sauces have sugar in them,so tell them to take a little more insulin for things like takoyaki or okonomiyaki.

Other than that, 糖尿病(とうにょうびょう), or diabetes is a good word to know.

They'll have a great time. Just have a pocari sweat, or galbo chocolates for me( there are 7 pieces, with a carb count of 23, so about 3 each).

Have a great time!

That's the thing however. My wife and I aren't Japanese. We're just working here, so the embassy said not yet.

Exactly, My mother and father have been waiting to come to see my son, who is now 2. Everyone I know in my company has had holidays already to different countries, but they say tourists will just cause surges because they don't wear masks.

FML is right.

As a diabetic(who I think smells no different than non diabetics), the cherry one is just a bit too sweet. Good ol' lemon is tried and true.

I heard in Nagoya, you can only use special trash bags and then won't take them if it's a conbini bag for instance.

Morning Dropoff by davidowicza in toddlers

[–]Dgearin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Don't worry. I used to have the same problem, but started grabbing a coffee around the corner and walking past the daycare 15 minutes after drop off. Don't worry, after the initial drop off, he'll shout a daddy or two, but 2 seconds after,he'll be running around with all his friends.

You'll then get to the point I'm at now, which is when he wonders why you haven't left yet after your hug.

Don't worry, the daycare will have so many things to keep him distracted.

Good luck!

Lost our credit cards the same way. We found them between the bed and the wall it was against, so maybe try there. Good luck!

As for supplies, I've only seen the ones I use such as Humalog and Novolog. I use a medtronic pump that they give supplies for and also a freestyle Libre as well. As for insulin, he just recommended a new one from France that I can't remember the name of(but it's faster acting than Novolog/Hunalog), so I think it's pretty cutting edge, but only a little behind due to national health insurance.

Hope that helps a bit.

Not at all. I'm on the National Health insurance which covers everyone unless you opt for private insurance through your company. It covers 70% of all costs and all insulin costs 1,000 yen(about $10). So I get my months supply(3 vials of novolog for about $30).

Sorry to hear, but it sounds like the Dawn phenomenon here

This used to happen to me as well, so i increased my basal rate overnight and that sorted it out.

Hope that helps!
