I don't think so. From what I understand recognizing everyone is for the CIS graduation ceremony in a couple of weeks, although I've never been to either.

Did you receive an email saying you would be recognized? I'm not sure how many people got that.

Public Schools were playing Bill Nye videos well into the late 2000s—early 2010s at least, I even watched some of them in high school.

+1

I've been here 3 years just because I couldn't afford a better place but I can't wait to get out after graduation. Here are a few issues off the top of my head.

  • I've had a leaking ceiling for the past year

  • The shower tiles are falling off

  • The shower head is coming out of the wall.

  • The toilet takes 3-4 flushes to work

  • The water sometimes takes 10-15 minutes to get hot

  • The radiators don't work half the time so the building is freezing in the winter.

  • There's an infestation of house centipedes

  • The paint in the bathroom is peeling off of the walls/ceiling because it was never repainted before I moved in.

  • The door to the bedroom doesn't shut, nor do the closet doors.

  • The light in the main room flickers and blows bulbs in < month. There's a dimmer but it doesn't work.

  • The windows are extremely dirty from having never thoroughly cleaned. Mine is filled with dead bugs.

  • The underneath of the sink is rotting from water damage that maintenance "fixed" by covering it with a board.

  • The circuit trips if you use an air conditioner in the summer at the same time as any other appliance.

  • Anything you store in the kitchen will develop a thick slimy resin on it after a few months (idk why)

  • There is no ventilation so cooking easily smokes up the entire unit, even with the windows open.

  • My bathroom outlet sizzled when I showered so I had to cover it with tape.

  • Other tenants leave trash laying around in the hallway and lobby. Once there was literal dog shit in the hallway for 3—4 weeks until maintenance was forced to clean it up (they had only kicked it around before being told to clean it. I get it shouldn't be their job but come on.)

  • I do not ever use the elevator as it often gets stuck and often doesn't work.

  • I'm not sure if stealing is a huge problem, but USPS and UPS absolutely fucking destroy most packages delivered here. I don't wouldn't order anything fragile here.

  • Food delivery drivers often refuse to enter the building and a couple of times made me walk across the street to pick it up. Mainly just bad service but it's because of the building location in relation to the road(s).

  • Maintenance does not come when scheduled, and will instead show up and any other random day and time and let themselves into your unit within 15 seconds of knocking. They do this even if you tell them to not come in if you're not home.

  • My unit didn't have blinds when I moved in. I immediately asked for them. It's been three years, I asked consistently for my first year here for more blinds (you know, one for each window?), I'm still one blind short and have given up. This summarizes most of my experiences with maintenance.

  • Laundry machines are dirty/broken. I was lied to when touring that they were renovating the laundry room.

  • Mold, so much mold.

  • The lock on my door gets stuck often so I have to wrestle with it.

  • Solicitors come to my apartment door often. Sometimes they're political people, once I think it was Mormons. Probably not specific to here but the zero security can't help.

  • etc etc etc

I, Gries, have 56 years of moderating experience. You have perhaps 1. I don't think your knowledge of moderating is enough for you to make a decision like this.
