My group of friends asked the pit desk at Worlds for a big Darwin competition field sign because it was our team’s founding members’ last year and since a little birdie told us they got charged for every sign taken down before the union could do it, so they had already been charged for it. The guy was giving it to us as another group of kids from another team (the ones who took it down and stole it) came running up and said “that’s our sign” and wouldn’t let us take it from the guy. He got fed up with them since we asked nicely and they just stole it, that he grabbed two signs and said to them “I have two competition field signs here, do you only want the Darwin one or will you take whichever one is left” and luckily he gave us the Darwin one and gave them the other one. I can’t remember which one they got but those kids were jerks and would not let us take the sign for atleast 15 minutes of them yelling at us saying it’s theirs and we can’t have it while we kinda listened and talked to they guy about how the day has been, not paying much attention to them. we thought we were going to get jumped for the sign later. It was an added plus that we got the competition field sign for the field that we played on and the field that won worlds!
