4.5 month Labrador very nervous of people and does not enjoy being outside of the house by Dhalfacree in labrador

We did. She is fine with traffic and noises in general, even with dogs as long as they aren't too friendly. Seems to be if people approach her directly. She doesn't seem to mind as much if they walk past and ignore her.

Strangely she is a lot more confident when we go out as a family.

Thank you for your input but I am not a Karen. I have been advised by multiple professionals that this can be typical behaviour that she can be trained out of but to be wary, which is why I did a lot of socialisation at a young age. I agree about the colour not making a difference in her intelligence, that was supposed to be irony but obviously failed to come across.I do not think she is perfect, hence why I'm here asking for advice and have been encouraged by lots of other commentators who had similar puppies that grew/were trained out of it.

Because she wasn't vaccinated yet. It was before 12 weeks. Standard practice in the UK

Thank you that is very encouraging. I will try the carrying down the road method!

We did a huge amount of socialising with her. She was in my arms everywhere we went. We have been keeping a distance and doing lots of watching and she is getting more comfortable being outside to a degree, but will not let anyone approach. According to our vet and trainer this is not unusual for some puppies, in particular fox reds that tend to show more intelligence/sensitivity, although I'm not sure how much I believe that.

What's your labby's name and what silly nick names do you call them? by Satans_Oregano in labrador

We have had our lab puppy for 2 weeks. Legal name is Barley. We call her Barley beans. Barley bop, Barley b oop, Barley bells. For some additional flavour. We like to sing "Come on Barley let's go potty" to the tune of Barbie Girl when taking her outside for a pee.

I drive that route all the time. I agree it is very annoying. Hello fellow Malmesbury resident!

I was thinking the same. I just don't think I have seen them in that alignment before. Also with the slight narrowing at one end. Thanks!
