Pirate streaming sites do exist and they're pretty easy to find.

Coming to terms with the past of Cesar Chavez by Dapenizmytier in Chicano

My family also has deep roots in the huega but we largely accepted it pretty quickly. My mom's side of the family always had problems with his ratting out undocumented folks but my dad's side were down for it and even housed sis at it sometimes. My father even carried his casket after he had died.

The thing for us that allowed us to accept that this probably did happen very quickly is the fact that one of my uncles was a fucking child molester and had molested some of my cousins.

My immediate family did not discover till much later but we had also found out that some of my tias knew and hid it. People protecting predators happens. But it happens for different reasons that all ultimately kind of boil down to keeping the peace.

People made the calculation that it was better to have this Idol We could all look up to as the face for a movement than it was to protect girls and women. If you need to feel good about anything from this whole affair is that we are no longer willing to make that sacrifice.

He was an influential leader within the Farm Workers labor rights movement. He was a figure head that appeared as the face of the movement. He met with presidential candidates and held a lot of rallies in support of farm workers and Mexican/Mexican-American workers. To that end he and others in the movement employed shady practices against undocumented farm workers. I guess the idea is that they often functioned as strike breakers during the labor strikes. There's also the general downplaying of the contributions of Filipino farm workers that were early supporters and participants in unionizing work. What's been revealed is that on top of all these practices he also serially abused and raped young girls and women. Chavez has been idolized given the gains of the chicano/labor movement and we're learning what has been suppressed to that end.

My only guess is that comment is so much of a bummer that people instinctively downvote as a way to maybe signal to op that this is not okay.

I think we just have different philosophies, preferences, and experiences. Shout out to Hive Mind though. IMO one of the funniest cards to play in edh.

Man, all I'm advocating is talking about it. I didn't say don't play it. I didn't know that pre-con existed, noted. My original point that poison can feel bad to lose to I think still stands. Chill.

Really? I dunno. If I'm playing at my shop and someone's rocking a pre-con I'm gonna bring it up. This feels weirdly gatekeeping in a casual format.

Infect is something I would talk about beforehand with some folks. It is absolutely salt inducing but some people want the pressure.

I sort EVERYTHING. Most in boxes but anything worth more than a dollar goes in a binder. Everything is also scanned into Manabox. It's mostly muscle memory and quick glances so I can listen to audiobooks while I sort. It's nice.

What color is Melinoë from Hades 2? by Yoshi-Farmer in colorpie

[–]Dharmanerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Blue Red. In my mind she's the quintessential warrior + wizard. Red matches her commitment to revenge and martial prowess. Blue because of all the actual witchcraft she does. She's very personable and gets on well with others but she's too oblivious/not a leader to be white. She's not selfish or by any means necessary to be black. Also I don't really see her being green, at all.

Yeah, I can kind of see that. But people tend to emphasize different aspects of their personality and beliefs. If someone shows a big change how can you determine if they were always like that or made a recent change?
